And some anonymous voice did indeed inform me of that while I was trying to sleep.
On another occasion, there was an effort to make me feel ashamed because I’d “stolen” one of those little golf pencils from the public library. But it seems I might also sometimes be regarded as being smart; and, in view of that, my handlers might want me to divulge little smart, helpful thoughts for the benefit of others. Their motto: “Share and share alike.” They might try to get such tidbits out of me while I’m sleeping. Years ago, before all this began, I was told that I sometimes talk in my sleep, and I imagine that’s still true. Sometimes I may be asleep and not aware of whatever it is I might be saying. At other times, though, I'll wake up with what seem to be fragments of sleep conversation still in my head. On two or three occassions like that, my nocturnal conversational friends seemed to have been trying to get me to divulge bank and/or computer account passwords. So: my unpleasant sensation is of being made use of by others, involuntarily, for the sake of their gain. Sometimes, though, it's also partly for the sake of their amusement. As a result of the success of WKRP in Cincinnati, there was a movie made about me in the ‘80s. The movie featured one of the actors from the TV series and was called Dr Detroit. After that, people in Hollywood seemed to regard me as a genie that could grant wishes, and sometimes at night I’m read what seem to be ideas for movies. When the abuse began I was often kept awake all night by loud music. The dispenser of that loud music appeared to be related to a senior executive at Eli Lilly (*see box left), a Mr. Marvin Cave. After complaining to my neighbor, Mr. Steve Cave, about being kept awake all night, he replied quietly and calmly, implying that I might perhaps be experiencing hallucinations. (I don't know this as a fact, but I was told that Steve drank too much and that, as a result, the poor fellow suffered from severe liver problems.) More recently my experience has been to receive abusive talk from anonymous low-life members of our society who simply want to vent their pent-up resentments by haranguing me. Such venting has often involved off-color or violent ideas. So I’m being made use for multiple purposes. However, a central “handler” does seem to be involved. In other words, I’m being “retailed” by some “wholesaler” without my consent and without compensation. In fact, I’m the victim of a mild form of slavery. White Slavery in the USA: the Inside Story Channel 13, the Indianapolis NBC affiliate is owned by a company strategically located over the state line in Columbus, Ohio. For business purposes, that company is not only mistreating me, but others in Indiana, as well. I know that others are being abused because, while haranguing me at night, Pat Carlini complained that I wasn’t responding in the same way that “other victims” did. While I did appreciate that one bit of information from her, in general I didn't want to be hearing from her at night when I was trying to sleep and the TV set was off. But I was. And it wasn't an hallucination. Continue |

* In spring 2007, Lilly lobbied against a bill in the Indiana legislature that would have forbidden same-sex marriages. Lilly's stated reasoning was that the bill might endanger benefits the company was paying to employees with a domestic partner arrangement and make it hard for them to attract "good people." In my opinion, the current corporate culture for men at Lilly and other large corporations may be described as "emasculaing"--for all except top executives. By "good people" they mean people who, if they are men, are too passive and obedient and docile to be entirely normal. Although I've never been employed by Lilly, the treatment I received from them, even so, is indicative. My recomemdations for reforming the structure of large corporations so as to make them both less emasculating and more efficient are presented on this site. See "corporate structure" in the subject index. |
