Our under 11 took on a determined Leyland Warriors side on their own midden, and midden best describes the conditions our team played in. It rained cats and dogs (mostly heavy ones) for the duration of the game, a true challenge for DAZ. The Warriors turned out winners of the game with a score line that does not reflect the effort of our team 24 - 4. The coaching staff had difficulty in selecting players to receive the match awards but after discussions had taken place with the Warriors coach, Edward was awarded Player of the Match for a gritty performance, our team captain Abigail won most improved player despite sustaining a match ending injury before the end, with Sam the man winning top tackler with a determined show of vim and vigor.
It was decided to reward all players with a team medal, which will be presented after training on Saturday. |
