The match started off with a shaky start in the first half with the Lions scoring first with a try from Wallace and Mike Small converting to make it 0-6. Some slack play allowed Blackpool to intercept a loose ball to score under the post to make it 6-6 with the conversion. The score remained level until 10 mins from the end of the first half. A good session of play enabled Simm to score in the corner. The Lions led at the inteval at half time 6-10
The Lions increased the tempo and pace in the second half which saw the Lions pack get on top with good running from Hail, Phil Rothwell and Ryan Berry. Man of the match Berry broke through the Blackpool defence and out paced them to score out wide to increase the lead to 6-14
