| Springs went behind on 10 minutes after Pilks sent a kick across field and the winger scored in the corner with the conversion missed 0 4. Springs replied straight from the kick off, on the 5th tackle with Pilks expecting a kick through Small, English, Birkett and Rennox linked together to send the ball the width of the field with Rennox scoring in the corner again the conversion was missed 4 4. With Springs at this point playing their best rugby so far this season on 35 mins Forshaw made a break and offloaded to small who had Parry on his right wing and Parry scored 10 metres in with Birkett converting leaving Springs leading 10 4 at half time. On 50 mins Pilks scrum half through out a long pass missing out 3 players with the piks centre scoring in the corner converted the kick 10 10. With Pilks at this point playing their best rugby the scrum half again kicked through and a dubious try was awarded conversion missed 10 14. This spurred on Springs and Springs took control from now on with the try of the match being a length of field run by Birkett started initially by Small who gathered a spilled ball on his own line side stepped 2 defenders and fed Birkett who beat 4 defenders on his way to score. A relatively easy conversion was missed leaving the final score even at 14 14 |
