INTERNET RELATIONSHIPS
So you've found your true love, the person you have been looking for, the one you want to spend your life with. The person you met and fallen in love with is someone you met online, possibly in a chat room or through an acquaintance. You spend your online time together talking, laughing and making plans for the future. So many people do this exact thing every day. The Internet is a wonderful way of meeting new interesting people and millions of people are actively in an online relationship.
The thing about Internet relationships is that it is very easy to portray anyone you want online. A huge percentage of Internet relationships fail because one or both parties involved turn out to be people completely different then they seem to be online. These people will act like the one we have been looking for, only to turn out to be unfaithful and untrustworthy. Some will be in more than one relationship and basically playing these people in order to get what they want. It?s all a big game to them.
A true Story
I was dating a woman that I had met online for over 2 years. We were planning our lives together even though she lived in Australia and I live in the United States. We were planning on meeting for the first time this past January. I was so happy that I had finally found the person I'd been waiting for. It almost seemed to good to be true. It was... A friend of hers told someone I knew that she was actually married and seeing another person online as well. When I confirmed that this was the truth, I was devastated. Two years of my life wasted. My hopes, dreams and plans for the future, shattered. How could I have been such a fool.
