Hypothesis:  An educated guess that a scientist proposes as a preliminary or tentative explanation for what is observed.  +15

 

Materials and Methods:  Describe the materials, procedures, equipment used and the experimental situation.  +20

 

Results:  List the qualitative and quantitative results of the experiment.  Include data, drawings, and charts or graphs if illustrative and helpful.  +25

 

Discussion:  Provide your interpretation of the data and relate it to the hypothesis posed earlier.  The results may support, verify, or confirm your hypothesis or they may negate, refute, or contradict it.  Draw some conclusions and support them with the data.  What principle/s are demonstrated by the data?  Where there any unforeseen difficulties or something that went wrong.  +25

 

Format:  Neatness, style, appearance, language, grammar, spelling, and legibility.  +10
