SEASON SIX


6-01    9-13-05    New And Improved Lorelai

At the end of last season, Lorelai asked Luke to marry her, he answered with "What?" This season starts with her asking again, but before she can complete the sentence he answers yes. They look for something to toast the situation. They get Zima from Doose's and go to the gazebo, toast each other and kiss. Rory goes to court and gets 300 hours of community service to be done in six months, and a year's probation. Luke buys a diamond ring for Lorelai from Kirk. Paris freaks out when Rory tells her she's not going back to Yale in the fall, so Paris goes to Lorelai, who gives her her cell number so she can call any time. Logan and friends throw Rory a Felony party. Lorelai takes Rory's things to Emily andRichard and tells them that Rory is now theirs to take care of.

6-02   9-20-05    Fight Face
Lorelai and Sookie are admiring the house Luke bought while Sookie voices concern that Lorelai will bolt and pull a “Runaway Bride.” When discussing the home with Luke, Lorelai hesitates letting go of the home she has now. Luke picks up on this and brings in a crew to examine what is necessary to build on to her home so they can live there. Rory starts her community service. She gets into a fight with another girl. Lorelai gets a dog at a pet fair, which she names Paul Anka. Rory goes to visit Luke. She asks how 'people' are, a sly way of asking about her mother. Luke tells her that he and Lorelai are engaged. During a chance meeting when Lorelai sees Rory picking up trash and they have an angry confrontation about their mutual hurt feelings.

6-03   9-27-05    The UnGraduate
Lorelai is bugging Luke by entertaining the workers and giving them free food. However, they hit a water pipe and Luke offers to let Lorelai stay with him. Sookie pressures Lorelai to set a wedding date so she can plan all the details. Lorelai informs Sookie that she is committed to Luke, even without a wedding date set. Luke also offers to take care of her dog, Paul Anka, while she works late. Paul Anka must be rushed to the vet after eating a huge brick of chocolate. Lorelai tells Luke she doesn’t want to set a date until things are right with Rory again. Rory seems to be leading the volunteers in her community service. She has also taken a job at the Daughters of the American Revolution. Emily uses her as a spy to get dirt on Constance — who may be vying for Emily’s spot as president of the DAR. Paris has driven everyone crazy at the Dragonfly Inn. Lane and her band return from their summer tour. Logan returns from his summer to Europe. He is sensitive to the fact that Rory isn’t going back to Yale. Rory shares her stories of community service, all 125 hours she’s served thus far.

6-04   10-4-05    Always a Godmother, Never a God 
Missing Rory, Lorelai tries to call her and is upset to find that Rory's cell phone is no longer in service. Sookie asks Lorelai and Rory to be the godparents to her two children in the hope that they will reconcile when they see each other at the ceremony. However, mother and daughter end up fighting when Lorelai realizes that Rory gave her new cell number to Sookie but not to her. Logan learns that his father expects him to graduate this year and enter the family business. Wanting to break free from family pressures, Logan talks Rory into going off for a weekend in New York.

6-05   10-11-05    We've Got Magic To Do
After a small kitchen fire at the Dragonfly Inn, Lorelai needs Richard's help settling the insurance claim and uses the time spent with her father to needle him about the fact that he has been unable to get Rory to return to Yale. Lorelia hurts Luke's feelings when she insists he go camping instead of going with her to a dance recital at Miss Patty's. Rory does a fabulous job organizing a big DAR bash for Emily. However, at the party, Richard confronts Mitchum Huntzberger about his opinion of Rory's journalistic talents, while Emily has an even uglier confrontation with Logan's stepmother, Shira, over the romance between Rory and Logan.

6-06    10-18-05    Welcome to the Dollhouse
Richard tries to get information from Logan about Rory's future plans, but Logan mistakenly thinks that Richard is asking when the two of them plan to marry. Lorelai is in favor of Taylor's plan to change all the Stars Hollow street names back to their original historic names, until she learns that the street where the Dragonfly Inn is located was once known as Sores and Boils Alley. Rory confesses to Logan that she loves him, but doesn't expect him to reciprocate. Richard finally faces the fact that he should never have let Rory drop out of Yale, and shows up at Lorelai's house with her doll house Emily was going to give away to Goodwill. Richard says they need to talk about Rory's future.

6-07   10-25-05    Twenty-One Is The Loneliest Number
Richard tries to convince Lorelai to help him with a plan to get Rory back to Yale, but Lorelai insists that Rory has to make the decision herself. As Rory's twenty-first birthday approaches, both Lorelai and Rory are saddened by the fact that their ongoing estrangement will keep them from spending the day the way they had always planned. Emily throws herself into planning an elaborate birthday party. Meanwhile, Emily and Richard are shocked when they realize that Rory and Logan have been having sex. Lorelai and Luke attend the birthday party, and Lorelai and Rory have a short, but warm, almost normal, conversation.

6-08   11-8-05    Let Them Hear Your Balalaikas Ringing Out
Luke agrees to sponsor a local girls’ soccer team. Rory is pleasantly surprised when Jess appears at her grandparents’ house and reveals he has written a book. Rory agrees to go to dinner with Jess, and when Logan unexpectedly joins them, an ugly confrontation develops, leaving both Rory and Logan to face the choices they have made. Emily is concerned about Rory's sudden evasiveness and tries to exert some parental discipline. Rory tells her she's been spending three nights a week with Logan not Paris. Meanwhile, when Paul Anka gets sick, Lorelai channels all her concerns about Rory into caring for her dog. When she talks to Luke about it, saying she's a bad mother, it's obvious she really talking about Rory.

6-09   11-15-05    The Prodigal Daughter Returns
Lorelai comes home to find the renovation of her bedroom is finished. Luke has put his grandmother's old bedroom furniture in it and Lorelai hates it. When Lorelai receives a surprise phone message from Christopher, she hurriedly turns it off when Luke walks in, making him think that they have been talking behind his back, and they argue about it in front of Sookie and Jackson. Rory stations herself in the lobby of the Stamford Gazette until the editor finally gives her a job. A young girl from Woodbury gets some of Luke's hair as a science project to find out who her father is. When Luke goes to the Science Fair he discovers that he is her father. After Rory gets the job, she goes home and she and Lorelai have the long-awaited reconciliation. Lorelai goes to the diner to tell Luke the good news and says they can now set the date to get married, but Luke is still too much in shock to respond.

6-10   11-22-05    He's Slippin' 'Em Bread... Dig?
After a year Christopher reappears in Lorelai and Rory's lives. He inherited millions from his grandfather and wants to take care of Loreali and Rory. Rory agrees that he can pay the rest of her tuition to Yale. Luke tells Liz about his daughter. Lorelai, Rory and Luke share their first Thanksgiving at the Dragonfly Inn. Rory gets a call from Honor, Logan's sister, expressing her sorrow about Rory and Logan's breakup. Lane's band gets to perform in front of two record label execs, but Zach ruins it when he causes a fight on stage because of his jealousy over a song Brian wrote about Lane.

6-11    1-10-06    The Perfect Dress
Feeling that he has missed too much and wants to get to know his newly discovered daughter pril, Luke goes to have a talk with her mother, his former girlfriend Anna Nardini. Meanwhile, Lorelai sets a date for the wedding after finding the perfect dress, but she is worried by the nagging feeling that something is about to go wrong. Back at Yale, Rory moves into a dingy off-campus apartment with Paris and Doyle, and tries to avoid running into Logan. However, when Logan shows up at her apartment and declares his love for her, Rory breaks down while talking to Yale's resident psychiatrist.

6-12   1-17-06    Just Like Gwen and Gavin
Kirk is organizing the Winter Carnival. Lorelai and Rory volunteer to man a carnival booth called "The Amazing Doggy Swami." At the inn, Lorelai takes care of the New England Maple Syrup Council. At the Yale Daily News, Paris is making everyone except Rory uncomfortable with her demands, expectations and ideas. Logan tries to mend his relationship with Rory by hiring the coffee cart guy to follow her around all day so she has instant access to coffee. Logan drops by the Inn to get help from Lorelai with his relationship with Rory. And when Lorelai goes into the diner, she finds out about April, and Luke asks Lorelai to postpone their wedding.

6-13     1-31-06    Friday Nights Are Alright For Fighting
While Luke deals with the reality of having April in his life, Lorelai tries to pretend she doesn't mind the repercussions the new situation is having on their engagement. Rory's concern over Paris' lack of management skills at the Yale Daily News finally reaches a crisis point when most of the staff quits in protest. With Logan's help, Rory is able to get the paper out on time. Meanwhile, Lorelai breaks the news to Richard and Emily that their money will no longer be needed for Rory's education, and the resentment starts to build. The subsequent Friday night dinner erupts into an emotional confrontation where all four Gilmores finally get their issues out on the table.

6-14    2-7-06    You've Been Gilmored
Paris is voted out and Rory is the new editor of the Yale Daily News. An angry Paris throws Rory out of the apartment and she moves in with Logan. Emily insists Lorelai bring Luke to Friday night dinner since they are going to be in-laws. Emily and Richard share insurance fraud horror stories with Luke and Lorelai. Rory takes Christopher on a tour of Yale, then takes him to see her and Logan's apartment. Christopher bonds with Logan, but calls Lorelai with the news even though he said he'd let Rory tell her. Lorelai isn't too crazy about the situation, but graciously accepts it.

6-15    2-14-06    A Vineyard Valentine
As Valentine's Day approaches, Rory and Logan invite Lorelai and Luke to spend a weekend with them at Logan's family's house on Martha's Vineyard. Lorelai is upset by Luke's unfriendly attitude toward Logan. Luke's attitude changes when he realizes he should have bought Lorelai a Valentine gift, and Logan gives him a necklace he had bought for Rory, to give to Lorelai. When Lorelai finally confesses to Luke that she is worried the wedding will never take place, he tells her he loves her and reassures her that they will get married soon. They discuss eloping. The weekend ends in an ugly scene when Logan's father, Mitchum Huntzberger arrives and they have a violent arguement.

6-16    2-28-06    Bridesmaids Revisited
Lorelai offers to help Christopher out by babysitting his 3-year-old daughter, Gigi, and is horrified by the toddler's terrible behavior. The next day, Rory and Logan attend the wedding of Logan's sister, Honor. While helping the bride and her three bridesmaids get ready, Rory is devastated to learn that Logan slept with all of the bridesmaids during their recent breakup. She tells him she is moving out. She ends up back with Paris, who threw Doyle out. A heartbroken Lane gets a surprise from Zack at the diner when he asks her to marry him. She accepts.

6-17    4-4-06    I'm Okay, You're Okay
Rory forgives Logan for his indiscretions, then needs some time for herself, so she pays a visit to Lorelai. Although Lorelai refuses to admit that she is upset, Rory can tell that she is bothered by the news that Luke will be gone for a few days on a field trip with April. Against Lorelai’s wishes, Rory pays a visit to the store owned by April’s mother, Anna, to spy on her. Meanwhile, when Zack finally works up the courage to ask Mrs. Kim for permission to marry Lane, but she says he has to write a hit song first. She helps him and Lane and Zach are officially engaged.

6-18    4-11-06    The Real Paul Anka
Lorelai has a bizarre dream in which the Real Paul Anka appears. Meanwhile, although Rory and Logan are back together, Logan is miserable knowing that Rory hasn’t really forgiven him, and he takes off with his friends for another stunt with the Life and Death Brigade. Rory accepts Jess’ invitation to attend an open house at his new book store/art gallery/publishing house in Philadelphia. While there, she runs into Luke, who is accompanying April on an academic field trip. Rory and April meet but only exchange a few words. Back in Stars Hollow, Lorelai is horrified to find that Richard and Emily have been looking at real estate in her town.

6-19    4-18-06    I Get A Sidekick Out Of You
Lane and Zack's wedding is coming up and since Luke is busy, Michel is Lorelai's first choice as a date for Lane and Zack's wedding, but he gets Celine Dion tickets and bails. Rory suggests that Chris go as Lorelai's date. Grandma Kim is a Buddhist and doesn't know that Mrs. Kim is a 7th Day Adventist. At Lane's reception, Lorelai has eight shots of tequila, makes a revealing toast that she doesn't expect to ever get married, then passes out. Rory and Christopher take Lorelai home and put her to bed. Rory rushes to the hospital where Logan was taken after he is injured during a Life and Death Brigade stunt in Costa Rica.

6-20    4-25-06    Supercool Party People
Logan is rushed to the hospital after he had an accident when jumping off a cliff using a parachute. He has a collapse lung, broken ankle, contusions over a third of his body, and a concussion. Rory is frustrated because the nurses and doctor do not want to explain what is going on with Logan. Paris helps her get the needed info. Luke has April and a few of her friends at the diner for April's birthday, but it goes badly. Lorelai comes to the rescue to help with the girls and make the party fun, which allows her and April to finally properly meet one another. The girls end up having a slumber party. But when Anna finds out Lorelai was there she is angry because she doesn't know Lorelai. Lorelai goes to see Anna to explain. But until she and Luke are married, Anna isn't convinced that Lorelai and April should bond.

6-21    5-2-06    Driving Miss Gilmore
Lorelia is purposely avoiding Luke. Rory contacts Kimberly Wells, a Wall Street Journal reporter, about an interview Wells did with Mitchum Huntzberger, where he implies he was responsible for Rory getting the editorship at the Yale Daily News. Liz tells Luke she is pregnant and TJ has left. Luke goes to see TJ and tells him Liz is concerned that SHE and not TJ won't be a fit parent. Lorelai has to drive Emily around when her LASIK surgery goes wrong. Emily asks her to accompany her to a real estate office where they are presented pictures of marvelous house. Emily wants to buy it for Lorelai and Luke as a wedding present but Lorelia tearfully tells her the wedding's not going to happen.

6-22    5-9-06    Partings (Season Finale)
Loreali is still avoiding Luke. The town is filled with troubadors hoping to be discovered, much to Taylor's chagrin. Logan graduates from Yale and Rory throws him a British-themed farewell party since the next day he has to leave for London to work for his father. The next morning as he leaves, Rory is in tears. Emily invites Christopher and a psychologist, Lynnie, to Friday night dinner, trying to set them up. After the dinner Lorelai talks to Lynnie about her and Luke. She then goes to Luke and asks him to elope. When he refuses, citing April, Lorelai tells him he has to figure out how April fits into their lives, not the other way around. She says she loves him but doesn't want to wait any more. She give him an ultimatum -- it's now or never. He says he doesn't like ultimatums. Lorelai walks off and ends up at Chrisopher's. The finale scene is the next morning and a naked Lorelai is in bed with Christopher.
