| Fleeing 'Paul's' Fornication |
| You will hear it being said, that fornication means making love to strange gods, or strange women seducing you into worshipping a strange god, like the temple prostitutes used to do. And therefore sometimes on Liberated Christian Circles, they suggest this reasoning means we are free to make love together, yet still be in compliance to Paul's scriptures. But, I just don't buy it. Yes, there definitely were temple prostitutes and that was a horrible twisting of the Lord's creation when men would have to sell their souls just to make love to a temple prostitute of a strange demonic god. Enticing the unwary shallow ones who got just tooo horny for their own good is trickery to the max.. But nevertheless, YES, of course, that's a sin to worship any other god rather than Jesus, the Lord of Lords. Yes, we are not 'flee fornication with a strange god, because we are to love the ONLY GOD...JESUS. But that's not how Paul saw things. Fornication according to Paul, was just simple love making and Paul considered it the 'flesh' and therefore always a sin. Therefore he suggested rather than burn, that the brethren marry. For Paul considered our attraction for each other lustful, carnaland evil rather than normal, natural and heaven sent. So go ahead decide for yourself, and choose for yourself. Was Paul anti-sex or was it just a mis-translation. I say, the former rather than the later.. 1Corinthians 6:18 FLEE FORNICATION. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 1Cr 7:1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: [It is] good for a man not to touch a woman. 1Cr 7:9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn. Rom 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof]. Gal 5:16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. For even in that first first, Paul is suggesting that fornication is a sin against your own body, not a spiritual sin. Hence, Paul is speaking about love making and not about spiritual lovemaking to a strange god. Paul was opposed to lovemaking, and wanted to force the brethren into being celibate like him. Paul thought that sex was a weakness and not a strength. Paul figured lovemaking sowed corruption in our bodies and souls and stated that the Spirit and Flesh were diametrically opposed. Jesus never said this, but Paul did and this is what the church people today believe. So either believe Paul, and his anti-sex opinion OR follow what Jesus said, and follow your heart, experiences and the truth that love making can be spiritual and that the flesh and spirit are united, and should be ONE. Your CHOICE. Flee temple fornication YES, but flee simple beautiful lovemaking...NO. |
