The Original Sin was NOT SEX

                                  (Genesis 2 & 3)

The original Sin of Adam and Eve was not sex. Sex had nothing to do with the fall of mankind. So even though the great majority of churches teach that sex and sexuality is the great evil, the truth is the Lord’s first commandment to Adam and Eve, was for them to ‘have sex’. But if you don’t believe it, then let’s go over the scriptures and you may be very surprised. And then from there, it might make you take a closer look at all the other sexual misconceptions that church doctrines have ingrained in you.

Reading Genesis 1: 26, 27, it says … So God created man in his own image, in the image of God, created He him, male and female created He them. And God blessed them and God said unto them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the Earth.’

So there it is in scriptures, the Lord told Adam and Eve to have sex, right after He created them. And there is no reason to believe, that these two, natural and normal and healthy individuals did not obey the Lord and do what the Lord created them to do. For there’s no other way for them to reproduce unless they ‘made love’ together. Therefore, reading directly from scriptures, ‘having sex’ was the not the first sin but the FIRST COMMANDMENT. For the Lord designed them to fit together and be together, so neither would be ‘ALONE’. And so that together ‘they shall be ONE FLESH.’ (Genesis 2: 18, 24).

Reading further, in Genesis 2:25, the Word of God states .. ‘And they were both naked, the man and the wife and were not ashamed.’ In other words, they were not embarrassed in seeing their nakedness. There was and is nothing evil about being naked. But then came trouble into paradise, as the serpent started telling Adam and Eve that the Lord was a liar and hadn’t told them the truth.

Genesis 3: 1-4 states ‘And he (the serpent) said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden. And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest ye die.’ And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall NOT surely die.’

There it is, the devil as a serpent blatantly tells Eve, that God told her a lie. He tells her, that the tree in the midst of the garden will bring them life and not death, just the opposite of what the Lord told her. He was saying that God lied to them and then he goes and blames God by saying …. For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then shall your eyes be opened and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (Genesis 3:5) But wait a minute, Eve’s eyes were already open. Eve already knew good, and so all the devil could offer her was the knowledge of evil.

And when she ‘saw that the tree (of good and EVIL) was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof and did eat. (Genesis 3: 6a)

Did this have anything at all to do with sex and sexuality… absolutely NOT. Nowhere is it mentioned here that sex was evil. Eve’s sin was believing the devil, when he contradicted the Lord, and then obeying the devil in eating the devil’s tree of evil. So don’t think of this tree as good and evil. There was nothing good at all about his tree. But what does Eve do, she ate and then …’gave also unto her husband with her and he did eat.’ (Genesis 3: 6b)

Yes, she passed on her sin, by encouraging her husband, Adam to eat of the evil tree, and he did. But don’t blame Eve for his sin, he had the choice and made the wrong one, just like Eve. So they were both guilty, and that was the original sin and the FALL of Mankind. And it die bring death to them and their children which includes us, physically and spiritually, just like the Lord said it would do.

And did the fruit make them wise and gods and did it open their eyes ? NO, for Genesis goes on to say … And the eyes of them BOTH were opened and they knew they were naked. (Genesis 3: 7). The devil’s fruit opened their eyes to evil not good. It clouded their vision so instead of seeing the beauty of God’s fantastically created images, their new evil wisdom told them they were naked and shameful in their nudity. For instead of liberating them to further joys and ecstasies, the devil’s fruit when eaten, made them aware that they were naked and therefore should be ashamed. (SEE
Made in His Image). So rather than opening their eyes, it closed their eyes to the BEAUTY of themselves and each other. This is the devil’s wisdom and fruit.

Did it make them wise, NO, absolutely not. All they gained from the serpent, was the wisdom of evil, because that is all he is full of. For as the Lord said about the devil later, ‘He abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own for he is a liar and the father of it.' (John 8: 44).

So what is the Original Sin ? Well it wasn’t sex, but the knowledge of evil. And in the devil’s world, he can try and entice us with his lies and half truths whether taught to us in his schools, universities, seminaries, via our national or tribal or religious  customs, or through a myriad of other ways. And even though we may hear his lies, we don't have to believe them, obey them or put them into practice. For that's a sin and that was the original sin of Adam and Eve..

Their actions in the Garden were possible because the Lord gave them
FREE CHOICE. And yet rather than thier choice bringing liberation and freedom, Adam and Eve's poor choice in believeing the devil brought them shame for being naked. The Lord hadn't told them to be ashamed of pure innocent nakedness, the devil had.  He surely told them, sex was evil and that they were naked. This Adam and Eve were never aware of before, and yet now after their terrible decision and the FALL, they ….. ‘sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons.’ (Genesis 3: 7b).

Did the fig leaves work….. NO. For after a discussion with the Lord concerning their tragic mistake, Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the serpent, and they just  wouldn't take responsibility for their sin. They continued to shift the blame and cover-up even more. And yet the Lord in His MERCY…… made them a covering. ‘For ‘Unto Adam and also to his wife, did the Lord God make a coat of skins, and clothed them. (Genesis 3; 21).
