Paul's Dress Code was Not the Lord's Sorry All, you have two choices, either believe the Lord or believe Paul. For many times Paul's words in mere letters to the babe churches are just his unspiritual opinions and NOT the Lord's Words at ALL. Paul's words many times contradict and oppose what the Lord has taught through His Prophets. So you have to choose what you are going to believe and know when Paul is speaking and writing in the Spirit and when he is just giving his opinion. For Paul gave himself permission to give his opinion many times 1Corinthians 7:6 But I (Paul) speak this by permission, and not of commandment. (Because Paul had not heard from the Lord when he wrote these things down but went from his poor experiences with women, and from his law and holiness background) So let's take the example of how Paul demanded that Christian women should dress .... 1Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But this absolutely going against how the Lord says He is going to dress His Bride and His women. ***************************************** Ezekiel 16:6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee [when thou wast] in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live. Eze 16:7 I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare. Eze 16:8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time [was] the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.Eze 16:9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil. Eze 16:10 I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers' skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk. Eze 16:11 I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck. Eze 16:12 And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.Eze 16:13 Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment [was of] fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.Eze 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD. ****************************** Beauty is of the Lord, the Lord wants us to be beautiful and dress beautifully and sensually (if we choose).(SEE What is beauty) Our women don't have to dress like Quakers, and cover themsleves up and hide the beauty and glory of what the Lord Himself created. Let your light shine before men (and women) so that they may see His good works and glorify the Lord. (Mathew 5:16) Let him that glorieth, glory in the Lord and His wonderful works of creation. (1 Cor 1: 31)And the truth shall make us free not bound, and always concerned about what the unbelievers might think. To hell with them, we are to obey the Lord, and show the beauty that the Lord hath made. In everything give thanks, and be not bound by men, but FREE. We don't have to obey Paul and his holiness doctrines. We can obey the Lord and follow the freedom that He has given us. We can choose what to wear and when it is appropriate and what not to wear if we choose to do so. We are old enough in the Spirit and mature enough to be able to choose without being bound by some outdated unscriptural law of holiness. I mean if you want to hear anti-woman, anti-equality male Patriarchy speaking, jsut continue reading what Paul went on to say further in .. 1Tim 2:10-14 But which becometh women professing godliness with good works. Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Are you nuts Paul ? They both were party to the sin and so the Lord cursed both of them and not just Eve. Have you never read your Bible at all Paul ? How dare you blame just the woman as if the men are innocent and not guilty of any transgression. if that were so, the Lord wouldn;t have cursed Adam for what he did. And how dare you Paul say that a woman can;t lead a man, and if they do that would be usurping herself from her supposed lowly status as his mere slave and obedient follower. That's again against the principles of the Lord, concerning the equality of men and women. Patriarchy is not of the Lord. Mature spirituality from the heart determines leadership and not mere gender, Paul ? Look at all the problems you have caused because of what you wrote as it has given all the holiness people such ammunition to keep down Christian women and to try and keep them in subjection to unspritual men. This meaning that we have to choose between paul's words and the Lords words when their is a contradiction between the two, because Paul was not always in the Spirit when he wrote his letters to the babe churches. He was just giving his opinion, and many times his opinion was in absolute contradiction to what the Lord said. So women (and men) if you feel like dressing up, or not dressing at all, that is your freedom and liberation in the Lord, so that all you have to do is just give the Lord credit for your health and beauty, (or manliness) and let others know it is He that gave you these gifts. In My Opinion according to what the LORD's WORD says. David |
