Protect the Young Sexually Biblically we are told over and over again to protect our young, and this would extend to protecting them sexually as well from any predators. For there is nothing worse or more traumatic than feeling forced or coererced or tricked or intimidated or raped especially when young. The young in most cases are not able to to defend themselves physically, or even mentally or spiritually. They usually just aren't strong enough to over power an aggressive adult. So a boundary has to be set and obeyed. And it is for this reason that the Lord himself said, that whoesoever offends one of these little ones, it would be better for them that a millstone would be hanged about their head and they were thrown in the sea. And as you can tell, this is a pretty strong sentence against them from the Judge of Judges. The Lord just doesn't like it when people prey on the weak even though they may seem to be mature physically. Stay away from the young, let them develop and choose in their time among their own age group. The very worse things I have seen have happen, have happenned to those that abuse the young, the Lord has no patience with such people ... as the defenseless are so protected by the Lord including the widows and the poor. So we better watch out if you ask me. If we violate their trust, we have broken a taboo of the Lord in my opinion, as his paramount law is CHOICE and we would be taking that away from them, as they just aren;t old enough or strong enough to choose. Yes, I know the age of maturity is debatable, and some will say they many are adults atan earlier age than 18 or 19, but then again today's youth may not as mature as past generations where the young learned decision-making and choice and RESPONSIBILITIES at a much, much earlier age than today. And so in many ways young adults now even in their late teens and twenties can be more immature and unable to discern and decide for themselves than the young of past generations. (SEE WE have to Choose) So sexually and spiritually I think it is best that we leave the young alone and give them freedom to choose in their time when they choose to choose and with those of their own age group. We shouldn't be rushing them or hindering them. They have to be free to decide in their time so that they and not us are responsible for their choices ..... In My Opinion David : Mathew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Mark 9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. Luke 17:2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Revelation 18:21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. For the Lord shall .... Psa 82: 3 - 4 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. David Jay Jordan |
