Witches, Wiccans, Medicine, and Christianity Here's a posting from Proceliendoll, an e-mail friend, that send in these wise observations and history ..... with my comments in ......(...) ********************************************** In my natural studies I read that the witch hunts of the 1800s were due in large part to the male medicine system trying to wrench control from the female herbalists, and being that they had the greater power in religion and politics, they labelled the woman as witches, giving them (the men) freedom to wipe out a whole group of healers. (Rings true historically as women weren't even allowed to be doctors until this past century, and yet according to the Lord, its Equality not Patriarchy) It is purely stupid superstition, and what I believe the Bible has taught us is that we should shun the modern medications and turn more to nature and its power. (Yes, including Faith Healing) Someone told me that Christianity is a very male religion, (Yes, the Church System is, but Christ wasn't) is it is domineering and overpowering, aggressive, whereas witchcraft (as in Wiccan) for instance is a female religion that seeks to live in harmony with nature and others, and respects nature and its power. (and hopefully they recognize that the Earth is just a Creation of the Creator and not a 'divinity'. For the 'Earth shall help us', but is not a God) People consider this heresy, but what I have learned is that being Wiccan is not necessarily anti-Christ, but Wiccan means you believe in the power of nature, not that you don't believe in Jesus. Of course I haven't studied it too deeply, but I think that mostly it is Satanists that would be in opposition to God and Christianity. (Yes, this also is what I have heard, even though there is a wide range of beliefs in the different groups and different individuals) But I don't believe that Wiccans are in opposition to Christianity. I have heard that there are Wiccans who are also practicing Christians. If the only requirement to being a Christian is to accept Jesus as the Son of God and as your Savior, then I don't see how they could conflict. Anyway, someone, put up a list awhile back when I had this controversy, that according to the definition of witch in the Bible, that there are 16 or some definitions, and of course the last one is all-inclusive, stating, anyone who isn't Jewish is a witch. So, I think the term witch has maybe been overly used or abused by the churches and used by those smarter than the average, the leaders and political people, to put fear into the masses and gain control by labelling the people they want to eliminate as 'witches'. ( written by porceleindoll@hotmail.com ) **************************************************** Sounds true to me, in general , and yet I do definitely believe there are black witches, and confused witches, grey witches and down-right Anti-Christ witches but surely there are good witches that are falsely labbeled just because they don't follow the regular Christian path, and go a different natural way, and a more feminine way. And isn't it possible that their male counterparts ... the warlocks might be falsely labelled as well. Couldn't there be, those among them that are for peace when the world and the worldly churches are sponsoring 'materialism and war'. But to find out who the Lord's Other Sheep truly are, wouldn't we have to go to them and accept them if they are for harmony with the Lord's Earth and love for the Lord's people, .....if they accept us. For aren't all the Lord's Sheep Individuals and different from the norm ? And isn't it possible that they in some cases, have much to teach us. And again, if there are few of the Lord's sheep within the false sheep folds of the system, maybe we should be looking other places for those of a true heart and a loving spirit.
