There were few overland travellers I came across en route. To the left are a Dutch couple who I sold my stove to. I never got their names for we were to meet in Labe but due to my illness, we never met again.
The bottom two pictures was a chance meeting. Eric was a week behind me when he left Dakar, Senegal. He kept asking locals if another 'white man' cycled by. He was told that a friendly man who waved and greeted everyone passed through a few days previous.
Since I was ill in Labe, our paths finally crossed when I stopped for lunch to buy some bananas in a local stall. We ended up cycling together for over a week. What a laugh!
