| Bermuda is a lot like Rowayton. Everybody knows everybody. When I first moved here a friend suggested that the best way to cope socially is to treat it like high school. Assume that everything you do will be public knowledge within 12 hours. Unless it is really juicy, then make that 2 hours. The only thing missing is the River Cat Bar. |
| Driving in Bermuda. Yes, it's on the left. Bermuda is 21 miles by 1 mile large. There are 23,000 cars registered and another 21,000 motorbikes. The density of motor traffic on the roads is by far the highest in the world. The national speed limit is 21 mph. This means that it takes about an hour to get from one end to the other. Cars in Bermuda are restricted by length and width. The largest car class, including for example, a Toyota Corolla sedan, costs $1,088 per year to register. There are some commercial trucks around. And the American Counsel, being American, drives a Crown Victoria. Non-residents can not drive or rent cars in Bermuda. You can rent motorcycles. |
