A DAY I'LL NEVER FORGET!!!

To think that this would happen to me not once but twice in one weekend! I have to honestly say this was a weekend I'll never forget for a LONG LONG TIME! Sitting for six hours on a bus to travel to the Toronto Area to mainly meet David Tom was probably one of the best decisions I've ever made. I'm so thrilled that the weather co-operated with me this time ( a snow storm prevented me from travelling the last time David was in Ontario), and work gave me the chance to take the time off to go away for the weekend, otherwise this would have never had happened!

When I heard that David will not only be making an apperance in Hamilton, Ontario, but in Toronto, Ontario the next day, I just knew I had to make a weekend of it. And that I did! I attended the apperance at Ontario Place the very next day. Here is my story ....

Sun. morning once again I woke up early ... and got myself all ready for the BIG DAY ahead. I was put in a damper mood, cause it was raining and all I could think of was - great .. its raining ... and no one likes it when it rains .. especially when you are going to a place where you'll be outside for most of the day. However thinking that in a matter of hours once again, I'll be seeing David Tom - so my damper mood quickly changed.

I arrived in Toronto at Ontatio Place at 11:30am and it finally stopped raining. Little drizzles here and there. I didn't want to mess up my hair, so I put my hood on .. thank goodness for hoods ... I had to look my best for David *hehehe* Do you blaim me? LOL

Once arriving into the park, there I spotted a sign saying "David Tom" LIVE At Festival Stage Today At 1:00pm" YIPPY!! I quickly took the map, checked out where I was suppose to head, and made my way in that direction. All I could think of was - is it outside? Is there at least going to be a thing to cover us if it does rain again? Like a tent or something .. some sort of shelter. Well once arriving at the Festival Stage there was a little canapy that covered the small stage area, but were the seats were (or I should say benches) it was all in the open. At that moment I was just praying to God that the rain would stop and the sun would come out, just for DAVID!

When I arrived at the scene, I was surprised to see that there wasn't a whole heck of alot of people there. I quickly found my dear friend Nancy (Nancy maintains an AMAZING Y&R Forum Online, and I finally had the chance to meet her - she is a HOOT let me tell you ..) As well I also reconized two ladies I saw at the Hamilton Apperance. So I quickly went over to them, and chatted it up a bit. I then suggested we nab the seats in the front row before the crowd got there. So we wipped down the seats, with a towel that a fan was so nice enough to lend us, and we sat down right smack in the front row.

We of course had time to kill ... so we chatted it up about David ... and about The Y&R *g*

Strange thing about this apperance, due to the weather, I think that the # of people who attended this even was very small, due to the fact of the weather. I'd say that there was in total no more than 30 people there. If not less. Now some would say how disapointing, however I disagree. It made it more personal, like a one on one with David. The fans that did make the apperance were dedicated fans that's for sure!

Everything was on time, as usual - and just shortly before David arrived, the sun started to peak out from under the clouds and it once again became sunny and hot. It was a bit cool, since we were near the water and everything, however nothing could damper the moment when David arrived.

David arrived in a little golf cart looking YUMMMMMMMMY!!! OMG I can't stresss how GOOD he looks in RED people. He was wearing blue jeans, white sneakers and a t-shirt, with a really nice RED jacket which I just loved on him!!

The Q&A took place shortly after David arrived, and because it was such a small crowd, it was like we had to pull teeth at first to get people to ask a question. Once the first question was asked ... it was like .. anyone else .. and because no one was raising there hand I was like "what the hell .." so I did ...

It was the first question that came to my mind at the time .. "if you were on an island, what three things would you want ..."

Well needless to say I put him on the spot, poor guy didn't know what to bring - lol. Now I have to mention this again ladies .. when David answers, he makes direct eye contact with you. So here I'm sitting, in the first row, with no more than a feet away from him, and his nice blue eyes looking my way ****SIGH**** Quite beautiful!! He said he would bring drums sticks .. music I think ... he was having a hard time answering - lol. I wanted to ask him a question that was different than all the other questions other people ask ...

The Q&A did run smoothly, and I was lucky enough to ask him two questions ...

My second question was geared to The Prom .. I had asked him how long the PROM scenes took. He said they shot all that in four days ... so that was interesting.

After the Q&A session was done , it was time for the autograph session. Again like before, we were able to purchase a photo if we wanted. However if we wanted to get something else signed we were able to. The reason this was an exception at this apperance was due to the # of people that were in attendance. Again such a small crowd, so David was able to personally sign what ever we had, pictures, a piece of paper, anything but BODY PARTS - *hehe*
Of course I ended up bringing a bunch of photos etc.. of David just in case I cuold get sign, and that I did. I ended up getting my 8X10 Daytime Emmy photo signed that I won on Ebay ,along with a few other things I had brought.

When it was my turn, I asked David if he had a chance to look through the Fanbook , and he did say he did , and thanked me again. Also said that alot of work was put into the fanbook. And I told him it was a pleasure putting it together. He wrote on my autograph photo "To Andrea, Great Night (With An Arrow Pointing Towards His Picture) Thank-You, David Tom .." It will be a photo I will always cherrish! I already have it framed and hanging on my wall in my room. *sigh*

After the autograph signing, they had the polorids. While waiting in line we of course were chatting it up with people, talking about how tall David is etc.. We found out he was 5'11. A bit taller than me. Before I got my pictures taken, I told David that this weekend was the most memorable weekend for me, and that I am so happy I got the chance to meet him. He of course said thank-you and all I could do was *sigh* I must say I LOVE this picture of Me And David *As You Can See Below*

While David was finishing with the poloroids, I went up to Lilona (Canadian Agent) to personally thank her for bringing David to Toronto again, and I told her that I had a wonderful weekend. She remembered me from the day before and wished me a safe ride home, which I thought was very sweet of her. Also while waiting, I spoke with Canadian Soap Diva herself, Elaine Lorring - which I have emailed a few times in the past. It was so nice to meet her as well.

As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, and just before David had left Ontario Place, it started to cloud up again, and start to rain.

I was time for David to go and he exited the part as he sat onto the golf cart, and they drove off, him waving good-bye to all his Canadian Fans *sigh*

It started to POUR rain, so I along with a few people I met, sat under the tent, talked about the apperance, and waited for the rain to stop. Again I had the BEST time this weeked, and it will be a memorable weekend for me. I hope you enjoyed my encounters! I enjoyed sharing them :)
