Nabi and Judareth's weyr
IMPRESSED Brown Judareth at Aden Weyr
"It almost didn't happen, did it?" Nabi asked the slumbering dragonet. He rolled over a little, making a small dragon-snoring noise. Nabi's eyes teared up, and she smiled so broadly she thought her face would burst.

"You're so lovely... Little guy... Judareth..." Finally Nabi drifted to sleep, and one of the weyrling master's assistants went through the room to make certain that everyone was comfortable. Most of them were already asleep -- and the humans who were still awake were mostly tipsy with drinks found at the dining hall after their impression.

The weyrling assistant put a blanket over Nabi's shoulders, and noticed that the dragon sleeping beside her was almost the same shade of dark.

"What a beauty," he said. But no one was sure which he spoke of!

"Judareth, that's not... a good idea."

But you like them! Why can't I play with them?

I'm not playing, I'm working! Nabi sighed at the young but growing dragon. He'd gotten into the inks and sand table again, and had made quite a mess of it.

The young woman sighed and began cleaning up.

You still love me, don't you?

Standing still for a moment, Nabi then turned to her deepest enjoyment in the world.

"I could never stop loving you, sweet Jude."
We are flying! And against Thread we will be unstoppable!

Thread. The thought tore into Nabi with a strange fire, but it was not quite the same flame that burned within Judareth. She was afraid, even with the large healthy brown by her side, at the thought of Thread.

But you do not need to fear, my rider. I love you and I will protect you forever. But we will fight it, too.

"I know, my sweet... I'm just worried that I might panic or something stupid. We haven't flown in real Threadfall, only the play stuff and that just ... isn't too scary."

We will have a chance to prove ourselves soon enough! Judareth exclaimed, as they went into the wing.
Later, after a very successful flight against Thread, Nabi was helping wash off the stink of the burnt firestone and Thread ash off her dragon, when a tall shadow fell over her.

"Shard, if you try surprising me one more time, I'll toss you out into the ashes!"

He sighed, and then came to her side to help clean up.

"I was passing through and thought you'd like to know. The Currier wing would love to have you running public relations for them."

"The what wants me to what?!" She said, confused.

"Currier wing, the Protectorate's starcrafters, curriers and harpers, and search riders. They would like to be better organized, and I think you'd do that job nicely. They don't really fly thread--"

But I liked it! It was grand! Exclaimed a sunbasking Judareth.

"And you will have the chance, often enough. But it won't be your primary job. If you take it, there's a weyr waiting for you at the Protectorate."

Standing with her jaw slack and without anything to say for once in her life, Nabi finally snapped her mouth shut and then broadened her lips into a smile.

"Of course I'll take it!"
