Lasair Weyr
Do... you think you could move a little, Trey?

No! It's your wing sticking me in the eye! Move it yourself!

Carmen sighed. "They're too big to be together, K'iff."

"I know that, dear sister, that's why I've been looking into new weyrs for both of us. Since these big wherries can fly they can take their glorious buckets of waste products outside, with them. I for one am SICK of mucking this weyr!"

The brother and sister team prowled around Lasair hoping that there were two adjoining weyrs nearby. To no avail. For the moment, the pair of weyrlings had to put up with each other.

"If you go out for your exersizes in the evening," Carmen pointed out, "I can have Trey do his in the morning. That way they're not always in the same space."

"So long as they both come back
empty," K'iff moaned, "I'm perfectly happy with that."
Treyunith bellowed to the dragons of Lasair that he and his sister were about to leave for the Protectorate.

They were answered with a number of shrill calls, and at last the pair went between.
Do you think we'll find a good wing?

"We've already got one, my dear!" Called K'iff. "We're to be in the Shadow wing."

But that wing doesn't exist! I heard about it!
It was true: the Shadow wing wanted them, and didn't exist at the same time. Whenever anyone asked about it, the people supposedly involved shook their head and shrugged and left it at that.

But what they did afterwards... In the dim light of twilight, at the Protectorate's secret meeting island...

"You two and your dragons will have to be a little more ... aware of your actions." Said H'lis near his bronze Synesth. "Because you both have a lot of flair."

K'iff and his sister Carmen both nudged each other, and their dragons gave off rumbling chuckles.

"You can keep secrets, can't you?" Asked H'lis, and K'iff looked around. Everyone was watching him, since his sister had long since disappeared into the shadows to see about playing with Vi'per.

"I suppose I have to!" K'iff said, and H'lis waved him away.

Then K'iff went off to play with Vi'per. He was a very popular rider today.

Both riders and dragons have participated in the Cross Gender Frenzy at the Healing Den - and will doubtless be having loads of fun trying to figure out where all their offspring will be going to!
