A Spell For Chameleon

Written by: Magician §Šo††

“A Spell for Chameleon”. Piers Anthony’s first book written about the magical land of Xanth. A Spell for Chameleon starts off with a 25 year old man named Bink. All his life he was looking for his individual talent but he never discovered it. So he sets off on his adventure to find his talent. But his adventure was a failure. So he was exiled from the Land of Xanth to Mundania. When he gets to Mundania he meets Fanchon. an Ugly but genius of a girl.

But then the unexpected happened. He meet the dreaded Evil Magician Trent. You see Trent is a magician you can transform any living creature into another creature. He was exiled from Xanth 20 years ago. Its seems that some of the magic of Xanth drifts into Mundania so Trent was able to demonstrated his magic on Fanchon and Bink. Then The adventure begins.

A Spell for Chameleon is hard to get into at first. The first real action is in chapter 2 but after that it gets a little dull for 1 or 2 chapters. It gets full of adventure, action, and mysteries closer to the end. After Bink enters Mundania its hardly boring whatsoever.

Piers Anthony wrote A Spell for Chameleon in 1977. And ever since readers everywhere read his Xanth Series.

Piers Anthony has started many people through out the world to take a different look at reading. Before I found A Spell for Chameleon I hardly ever read. Pretty much only Harry Potter. But now all I read is Xanth. Sure both Harry Potter and Xanth express lots of info on magic but Xanth has more intriguing books. All books(Besides A Spell for Chameleon) in the Xanth series starts off(in the first chapter) with very exciting pieces of work, and continues that way throughout the whole book.

A Spell for Chameleon also teaches about the world of Xanth at the beginning, and also starts off many young readers.

From Back of book:

Xanth was the enchanted land where magic ruled-where ever citizen has a special spell only he could cast. It was a land of centaurs and dragons and basilisks.

For Bink of North Village, however, Xanth was no fairy tale. He alone had no magic. And unless he got some, and got some fast!, he would be exiled. Forever. But the Good Magician Humfrey was convinced that Bink did indeed have magic. In fact, both Beauregard the genie and the magic wall chart insisted that Bink had magic. Magic as powerful as any possessed by the king or by Good Magician Humfrey....or even by the Evil Magician Trent.

Be that as it may, no one could fathom the nature of Bink’s very special magic. Bink was in despair. This was even worse than having no magic at all... and he would still be exiled!

Thus begins Piers Anthony’s enthralling Xanth Series...
