Early Imperial Auxilia
These are actually part of the original Early Imperial Roman DBA army that introduced me to wargaming in the first place. They are simply Esci Romans, with their tunics painted green, and given cardboard shields. Some may consider this historically inacurate (and ok, the shield probably is), but it has been established from finds at Hadrians Wall (I think it was) that some Auxiliary units actually wore the same equipment as their legionary counterparts. Besides, it's quick, easy, and if you put three to a base (as apposed to the regulation four) they are fairly easy to distingish from legionarries on the table top.
