At this time I would like to say a word,
Some things you may, or may not have heard.
About our good friend and leader we call Bob,
To praise him turned out to be a rather easy job.
Bob is a fine soldier, a family man, and a swell guy,
His children all praise him, we understand why.
I'll try to describe him real good and so fully,
But I'll never find a word that rhymes with Schnulle.
Bob and Nell make a couple we have all adored,
He is our excellent long time chairman of the board.
If you follow along and start to get my drift,
I'm speaking of the biggest man in the two seventy fifth.
He is not only a big man but so is his heart,
He was such a big factor in our Association's start.
Bob was a forward observer, who had few peers,
He could lay a shell right between their ears.
Bob was a very fine officer and there was no doubt,
When he gave an order he didn't have to shout.
I've heard him say and he declared it as a fact,
Without John and Orlando he wouldn't have made it back.
In wartime travel he'd tell John to read the map,
Because he was thinking about taking a nap.
For the telephone company Bob worked so hard,
He was also a Colonel in the National Guard.
Another thing about him that I just have to tell,
Bob Schnulle's greatest asset is his dear wife Nell.
For years our corresponding has been much fun,
Bob is a great letter writer, second to none.
If the Presbyterians did a world wide search,
They would never find better workers for their church.
He is a fearless leader who is always inspired.
In fact this big lovable guy has never retired.
We wish he and Nell much happiness as they thrive,
While living in Countryside on Quail Drive. |
