 Sister Hue

 Growing up together

 Momma dressed us both alike.

We'd wear our hair in pigtails,

 our eyes were child-like bright.

 Your eyes are brown

 and mine are blue

 but together we both shared;

a color we'll call "sister hue"

 that only sisters share.

 It's the color of rain

 and the color of clouds

it's all those things and more.

Not only were you there for me

but sometimes my weight you bore.

As sisters at one time we shared

 our mother's beating heart

Even though three year's did make

 the difference in our start.

This sister hue is now quite bright

for we have aged and we've been told

that together we both give off a shine

a color now that's now quite gold.

So on this birthday I want to say,

that I love you even more today!

 Happy Birthday Sis!
