I got robbed!

Now it also happend to me! I got robbed!
On my long trip (now exactly one year) I've met a lot of travellers who got robbed somewhere. Hhhhmmm...it seems like this could happen on a trip...maybye this is one of the risks of a long time traveller!

Normally I travel with a big and a small backpack. In the small one I have my most important things like cameras, diary, etc. Usually this small backpack is always on my body or I put it to the floor between my legs. During journeys in night trains I even use it as a pillow because I heart alot from other travellers and so I know which situations can be especially dangerous! Well, but I lost it anyway!

In Varanasi I took the night train to Kolkatta where I wanted to fly to Hong Kong. After I got on the train I was searching for my seat respectivelly bed and finally found it. I had the upper bed and put my small backpack to it (on a height of two metres). After that I put my big backpack to the floor and pushed it beneath the lowest bed. Exactly in this moment somebody took the small backpack from the upper bed!!! 2-3 seconds later I noticed it and jumped out of the train hoping to see my backpack somewhere...but vainly...there was nothing to do anymore!
In my small backpack I had everything which was important to me: my expensive reflex camera, the digital camera, the cds with the digital pictures, my diary, the flight ticket from Kolkatta to Hong Kong, traveller cheques, ATM card, etc.

...what I don't understand is why somebody could take the backpack without beeing seen from the bed which was in a height of about two metres...

Well, so I had a few things less! But that was just one thing...the other thing was that I caught a virus. Such things always come together!
So I had to run through Kolkatta with stomach cramps, fiever and headache : police report, canceling the traveller cheques, demanding for new ones, canceling ATM card, etc.
At the start of my trip I said to myself that I expected to get robbed at least once. So I prepared myself accordingly...now I could demonstrate myself if I really was prepared enough for the real thing. But after three days I effectively had arranged the most important things...and fortunately also the virus was over in the meanwhile!!! So I was ready for Hong Kong...

The thing which annoys my most of all is that I lost my diary. Especially in India I saw different things which really made my thinking about alot. I don't explain to much at this place because it's endless. Go and see India by yourself and you'll see what I want to tell you! I just want to say here: I know now what different people wanted to tell my before my India trip when they told my that India makes you thinking about alot of things and could change your life. Others told me:"You can find to yourself in India!". Hhhhmmmm...I didn't know exactly what they wanted to tell my but now after I've seen India I understand this words better!
However to handle it I wrote down everything I saw -a few pages every day! And exactly this diary I lost! It's too bad, the things I wrote down had a big value for me!

Because I lost also my digital pictures I can't show any further fotos about India...which means this was my last report from India! Of course I still would know alot of things to report but without pictures it's maybye too boring, isn't it?
I think I'll buy a new camera in Hong Kong...so my next report will be from China...

And don't worry about me -I'm ok! There is now reason for excitement!

A special hello (the last time) from India!
