Dunc's musical depature

Duncan from Blue is proving himself to be a multi-talented man.

He's in a successful boy band, he's a hit with the ladies, he's done presenting work, and now he's apparently got himself a gig with Andrew Lloyd Webber.

It's reported Duncan's been signed up to sing the title track from new musical 'Lady In White', he says he hopes it'll be a springboard to a West End musical role.

New Blue single: Curtain Falls

We can reveal that Blue’s first single from their fantastic Best Of album later this year is ‘Curtain Falls’.

The self penned track samples Stevie Wonders ‘Pastime Paradise’ which was also famously sampled on the Coolio track ‘Gangsters Paradise’ ten years ago and produced by the respected Stargate team.

The track is a mid tempo smash which features the boys trademark soaring vocals and a brilliant rap section from Simon.

Destined to be a crowd favourite when the boys play live next year, this track sees the band mark a fantastic return to form.

Dunc: Show off!

It seems attending all those first night West End show parties have paid off for Blue's Duncan James.

Dunc has now been picked by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber to sing the title track from the composer's latest West End musical. Dunc will record a duet from the show, Lady In White with classical music starlet, Keedie. The ballad (what else?) I Believe My Heart will be released later this year.

Duncan said: "I've always been a fan of musical theatre since I was a child. I'd love to appear in a West End musical one day so hopefully this is a good starting point."

It seems that now all the Blue boys are branching out. Lee has been on a film course all summer in New York while Simon has dipped his toe in management with his band VS and Antony Costa? Well he's still shaving his back once a week of course and he's been busy in Cyprus clubbing, telling any girl who cares to listen: "Do you know who I am?"

Duncan - Solo Single

DUNCAN JAMES has been picked by ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER to sing the title track from the composer’s latest big budget musical. The BLUE star is recording a duet from the West End show Lady In White with classical music sensation KEEDIE. The ballad, I Believe My Heart, will be released later in the year by music giants EMI.

Duncan told me: “I’ve always been a fan of musical theatre since I was a child and to have the opportunity to work with Andrew Lloyd Webber is a dream come true.

“I’d love to appear in a West End musical one day, so hopefully this is a good starting point.”

It’s the latest string to the boys from Blue’s ever increasing bow

LEE RYAN has been on a film directing course in New York while SIMON WEBBE has been laying the foundations for his own music business.

ANTONY COSTA has been dabbling in acting and now Duncan’s single is his first solo release.

The musical launches on September 15 at the Palace Theatre.

Blue are planning to release a Greatest Hits album before Christmas which will include a brand new single, Curtain Falls.

MANY congratulations to Blue hunk Duncan James.

We hear the singer, 26, has recorded his first standalone track - the theme song to new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, The Woman In White.

The song, I Believe My Heart, is a duet with respected classical chanteuse Keedie and is due to be released at the end of September. Insiders tell us it's a top-notch effort that's "thrilled" Mr Lloyd Webber.

Lee Enrolls In New York Film Course

Blue star Lee Ryan tells The Sun he enrolled in a film course in New York because he wants to be a movie director. "I co-directed the video for our single 'Breathe Easy' and really enjoyed it," Lee said. "I can't wait to learn more about it. It's an exciting time for me." After performing at Sunday's Party In The Park, Lee flew to the Big Apple for a six-week stay.

'Denimstrate' with Blue on Jeans for Genes Day!

Duncan, Lee, Simon and Anthony are 2004 patrons of the Jeans for Genes Appeal along with former Atomic Kitten Jenny Frost. 'Denimstrate you care' is the theme of this year's appeal which aims to raise over £2.7 million for children with genetic disorders - an estimated one baby in 33 born in the UK - by getting people into their denims for a donation of £1 or more on Jeans for Genes Day on Friday 1st October. Thousands are expected to 'denimstrate' by putting on their jeans instead of their usual work or school clothes. Led by Great Ormond Street Hospital, the appeal will benefit a total of eight national charities including the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and The Haemophilia Society.

Duncan said: ‘We are backing Jeans for Genes in 2004 because it's a fantastic cause which makes life better for thousands of sick kids in the UK every year. Many of these brave kids are given hope by the Jeans for Genes appeal because it's funding groundbreaking research into many incurable genetic disorders. Not only that but their lives are made better in all sorts of ways by projects which support them and their families as they live in hope for that big breakthrough. All this is made possible by one special day.

Jeans for Genes Day on Friday 1st October.’

Lee added: ‘People of all ages up and down the country will be jumping into their jeans and making a donation. We’ll be proud to join them and believe we'll have made a difference if just a few more people stop and think about Jeans for Genes and follow our lead.

The boys have also modelled this year's campaign T-shirts which will be sold through the Jeans for Genes hotline and website. The women's T-shirt will also be sold at Matalan stores nationwide from September. Matalan will be donating a percentage of the profits of all T-shirts sold to the appeal.

Black and Blue

Don't believe everything you read in the papes. Apparently the big punch-up in Cyprus between Antony Blue and a tourist called James Goodridge that we told you about yesterday was not quite as clear-cut as a certain tabloid would have you believe. Ant contacted the Sun to put his side of the story after the story appeared yesterday, and claims that no fisticuffs were exchanged.

He said: "This drunk bloke was being really abusive, shouting things like, 'Oi, fat boy from Westlife'. Then he demanded to know which hotel I was staying in because he was going to go and kill me. I hadn't said or done anything to him. And I certainly didn't get in a fight." He went on: "I'm just trying to have a nice holiday. I've got two months off from the band and I'm planning on seeing some of my family who live here.

" So who whacked James then? Rumours that a grumpy-looking Kian Egan was spotted sitting behind Ant, and then leaving a while later with bruised knuckles are thought to be entirely made up...by us!

Duncan in a pop grope

DUNCAN JAMES likes to show fans how he really feels.

The BLUE singer copped a proper grope of a girl’s boobs when she egged him on after Party In The Park.

Duncan went out partying with GERI HALLIWELL after they presented Five’s coverage of the event.

The pair headed to the Zeta Bar in London’s West End.

When Duncan emerged, after some, ahem, refeshments, he chatted to fans and showed one some extra attention.

BLUE star LEE RYAN has gone back to school.

But he’s not resitting his GCSEs - he’s enrolled on a film course in New York because he wants to be a movie director.

The singer told me about his move at Sunday’s Party In The Park. He said: "I co-directed the video for our single Breathe Easy and really enjoyed it."

"I can’t wait to learn more about it. It’s an exciting time for me."

Blue at Party In The Park

The boys are returning to London's Hyde Park this Sunday for the massive Party In The Park. You'll be treated to Bubblin', Breathe Easy and a special Blue medley including All Rise, Too Close, Fly By and One Love! The boys will be joined onstage by 4 gorgeous dancers who will be working their way round for giant poles complete with Blue flags. Blue are due on stage around 4.25pm, but if you're watching on channel 5 tune a bit earlier to make sure you see them!

Don't forget that Duncan will be co-hosting the show with Geri Halliwell!
