Nobody's Angle 2

One nice thing about small town, they had a relatively smaller number of bars. They all produced nil. Sabretooth was playing with them, probably laughing his ass off. "Best ta stay in one spot n let him come ta us and this is as good as any." Logan sat in a booth that was concealed in the shadows.
Remy went to get them a couple of beers and see if anybody here has seen the tall bulky psycho.
"Non, cher, nobody seen any one dat fits he description."
Logan flipped open his cell and dialed the mansion. "Hi darlin', ya must have been waiting by the phone for me ta call, I'm flattered."
Remy could not hear the reply. "Doesn't look like his been here, I want ya to tighten the security at the school. Let every one that ya know what's gonna on. This could be what his had in mind all along."
Logan glared at Gambit. "Yeah I keeping a real good eye on him, just for ya."
Logan handed the phone to Remy. "Stormy I know." Remy glanced at Logan. " Mon ami, w'at do y' take me for, a complete idiot?" Remy raised an flawlessly arched eyebrow. "Remy love y' ta Stormy.' And laughed before shutting the phone and handing to Wolverine. Logan stared at him. "Not'ing, told me to stop calling 'er dat." He was starting to get irritated. "OK, s'e told me non t' piss y' off anymore dan necessary." He was not about to tell the truth. Ororo was his only confidant she knew his fondest dreams and feared for him a great deal of the time. He'd been in love with Logan for a long time, he'd longed for him in silence and would continues to so until he was given a little encouragement, oui dat was gonna 'appen in 'e lifetime. Storm also believed it was best to wait until he could make wiser decisions and not piss the other man off quite so much.
Logan had heard most of what Ro had to say to the kid. Remy had basically told him the truth, but something she'd said left Logan on the edge. "Do not burden Logan with your desires. Wait until you are both safely home. I'm sure he will understand. I feel it is long overdo, but wait." Now what had that darn Cajun gotten himself into.
Remy swagger across the floor and up to the bar to purchase two more bears, all the patrons in the bar kept their eyes on him. His natural grace combined with his terrific looks would take the average onlooker off guard and the result in staring and sometime more. The kid handled him well, but from what Ro had told him this had not always been true. Remy sat the drinks on the table and took his seat. "Dis ain't rig't, dis ain't even wrong, cher." Eyeing the Logan. "De man, "e manipulating us." Drumming his slender fingers on the table.
Logan concentrated on the slow motion. Remy stopped. "Sorry cher." Logan pulled himself out of his self made fog. Logan felt old as dirt and just as tired. "Remy, I not up to any surprises, if ya got something ta tell me do it now, I not waiting till we get back the mansion. If yer in trouble we can work it out, can' get any worst than this." Solemn blue eyes probed into demon red. "I heard the other side of the conversation with Ro."
Remy panicked and tried to leave the table. Logan hauled the kid back in place. "I'm sick with worry, wondering what Creed gonna do next, I don' wanta worry about you, too. Please."
Gambit began to chew his bottom lip and Logan appeared to be very interested in the action. "Remy 'as a crush on y', mon ami." He turned away.
Wolverine burst out laughing, Remy stared dumbfounded. "Ya were right kid , this could have waited till we got home." Logan's booming howls fill the room and all heads turned to check out the two men in the back.
Remy at last found his reason and stood to leave. Logan grabbed his hand and dragged him down. "Ya do the stupidest things and I know yer an intelligent man." Logan released his hand. "Remy , Sabretooth is one of my worst enemies and yer's, now ya come up with this lame idea ya got a crush on me. What am I suppose ta do?"
God he was glad he hadn't told the total truth, a watered down version had been bad enough. Wolvie was right if you really cared for someone you took their feeling into consideration before you did something that could hurt them. /Dis time I've managed t' get myself really screwed up./ Remy's eyes were bright with unshed tears. "Y' wanted de truth cher and I know y' non feel de same. Don' know w'y Remy makes de same mistakes over and over again. Everyt'ing so straightforward, some reason I don' accept it." Remy spread those strong lean hands palms up.
Logan reached over and squeezed one of those hands in his. "We'll talk about this thing when we get home, now we gotta stop Sabretooth from hurting any of the innocent residents here." Logan freed his hand and sat back.
They stayed till closing and no Creed. The ride back was uneventful they parked their bikes in front of the room and went inside. Remy stripped and folded he clothes neatly then crawled into bed, keeping his back to Logan the entire time. "Night mon ami." Were his finial words before falling asleep.
Logan watched the entire procedure without a word. He snatched a clean pair of boxers from his stack and went into the bathroom. Kid had probably decided to wait till morning to shower because Logan had used all the hot water the night before, couldn't blame him. Now the Cajun had a crush on him. If that didn't say it all, only kids had crushes and Remy was a kid. Logan felt old, old to the bone. He let the hot water jet over his aching muscles in an attempt to ease the pain. He reached around the curtain and grabbed his toothbrush out of the glass on the sink, the Cajun's sat next to his. A crush of all things.

Remy was up before dawn. As quietly as a thief he slipped into the bathroom. Logan smiled. The front door came crashing in, wood splinter flying in every direction. "Hi ya runt." Sabretooth stood in the middle of the room. Wolverine was charging him, claws exposed. "Ya miss me, Death." Sabretooth launched himself from the center if the room grabbing for Wolverine throat. Logan jammed both sets of claws into Creed's gut opening him up. Gambit exited the bathroom, dripping wet naked, to see Creed ripping at Logan's neck.
Razor sharp claws tearing the tender skin to shreds. He charged the first thing his fingers touched and hurled it between the two men.
Wolverine was thrown onto the bed and Sabretooth went flying into a wall. Remy unrelenting sent more objects soaring toward Creed giving Logan a chance to recuperate from his wounds. If he could only get to his coat, and the cards inside.
Wolverine howled like a wild animal as he rushed Sabretooth, dodging Gambit's exploding projectile. Creed met him head on. Wolverine slammed his claws into Creed's shoulder and sank it up to his fist.
He roared his pain and slugged the side of Logan head. He barely staggered. They were now locked into a killing embrace. Remy made it to his cards and commenced bombarding the two mutants. Once he had them separated he launched his assault against Creed in earnest. As a last ditch effort Sabretooth rushed the door barely escaping.
Remy hurried to Logan and helped him on the bed. Already most of the minor cuts and scratches were healed, the major were going to take a little longer, but there were no life threatening one. Remy pulled the chair out of the corner and wedge under the doorknob. Then dropped onto his own bed.
"New body armor, Cajun?"
Remy glanced over at Logan. "Appears we found Sabretooth, mon ami."
"Yeah."

They were dressed and out of the room in less than five minutes.
Logan's healing powers had stopped the major bleeding and they set off on the trail of they prey. Remy kept glancing at Logan, the concern was edged in the lines of his face, and if he wasn't careful they'd end up permanent. Logan wished the kid would mind his own business and let him worry about himself. Remy was making him nervous again. But at least it was taking his mind off the pain of his healing powers.
They rode till sunset, stopping at bars and gas stations along the way with no luck, Creed could have gone in a different direction. But he sensed they were on the right track. "We can bed down here and pick up his trail at sunrise."
Remy was city born and raised, he had slept on many a street or sidewalk, but not on the side of a road in the dirt that he could remember. This could be fun. "If dis is were we sleep tonight, I'm gonna check out de facilities."
Logan withdrew the cell from his jacket and dialed the mansion. "Ro yer not sitting by the phone waiting for me ta call, are ya?"
"Of course not, Logan. I'm carrying a cordless at all times."
Logan chuckled.
"How is our wayward Cajun friend?"
"He told me about his crush last night, so ya can stop worrying about it, darlin'."
There was a pregnant silence, then. "I don't believe 'crush' is the appropriate word, Logan. Remy might have told you that because he embarrassed. That young man is completely enamored with you and it's been quite a while now. Not a crush by any means."
"Ya sound sure about this."
"Logan please be considerate of his feelings. He is in love with you. With your guidance his could become a decent man." Storm paused. "Logan if you find can in yourself to care for him, I believe you both would find a peace to fill all the turmoil that had has been a part of you."
"Ro!" It was a warning to but out.
"Yes, call when you've taken care of the problem. I mean of course Sabretooth."
Logan smiled into the phone, "Ya know I well darlin'." And hung up.
Remy swaggered back into camp and Logan eyed him wearily. Remy wondered what he had done this time. After what he'd done with Sabretooth, trust was not something Logan associated with him. Remy averted he's eyes, removed his bedroll and tossed it on the ground. "Night, homme." He slide into his bed for the night.
Logan pitched his bedroll besides Remy's and crawled in.
