Giraffe, Ostrich and others   I actually wanted to go out to a castle park but (DUH! It's Monday!!!) it was closed and I couldn't take the pictures I wanted, so I took a long walk through a large park. From the park you can look into the zoo. (As always, for a larger version of a picture click right and save)   The giraffes were outside with their youngest - who will be a month old on May 8th.         These two were following me.   The two in the front are from this year, February I think. The one licking his back is a Thomson-Gazelle and the other three are Scimitar Oryx.     The right ostrich, the male, is called Rezzo (after the german politican Rezzo Schlauch, B90/Grüne) and was trying not to fall asleep.       ETA:One of two was sitting on 16 (!) eggs. Later this year they had 8 chicks... Rezzos wife, by the way, is called Sabine (Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger, FDP). Two other ostrich girls were also named after politicans were Heide (Simonis, SPD) and Angela (Merkel, CDU). But Rezzo did not like them and they had to go to other zoos. Their children have, until now, been given no politican names.
