Melissa Gilbert ("Little House on the Prairie") stars in NORA ROBERTS' SANCTUARY, a new television movie to be broadcast as the "CBS Wednesday Movie," Wednesday, Feb. 28 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The story revolves around a well-known photojournalist who, when stalked by an unknown assailant, returns to her childhood retreat to find safety and comfort, but instead discovers that her troubles have followed her home.
Also starring in the suspense thriller, based on the best-selling novel of the same title, are multiple Emmy Award winner Kathy Baker ("Picket Fences") and Costas Mandylor ("Picket Fences").
Gilbert plays the photojournalist, Jo Hathaway, who, overworked and under tremendous stress, begins having nightmares about her mother, who disappeared years earlier. At the same time, she starts receiving peculiar private photos of herself via e-mail from an unknown "friend." On the verge of a nervous breakdown, Jo retreats to her childhood island home-Sanctuary Inn-for an overdue visit with her family, including her supportive Aunt Kate (Baker).
Shortly after she arrives, Jo bumps into Nathan (Mandylor), a handsome acquaintance from her past, and is surprised to find the chemistry still exists between them. Although Jo tries to avoid a romance with Nathan, she finds herself unable to ignore her developing affection for him. But romance is soon interrupted by a series of frightening and deadly incidents, and Jo realizes that by returning to Sanctuary, instead of escaping her problems, she has walked right into the heart of them in this story of passion, betrayal and murder.
