![]() ![]() Welcome, I enjoy spending time with Jesus. God's wordis such apart of my life, that I would like to share what I've learned withanyone interested. The title of this Online Bible study is "Words to Live By". This title representsexactly what it means. We are to put into practice daily what God's Word teaches. When we don't practice righteousness we are fooling ourselves and no one else. "If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is bornof Him." 1 John 2:29 "But- obey the message; be doesers of the Word, and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth.] For if any one only listens to the Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, he is likea man who looks carefully at his [own] natural face in a mirror." ![]() My favorite saying is "Trust God and He will do it". This became rhema to me because of some difficult situations that happened in my life and family. They seemed to be so big that I lost site of God's ability in such circumstances (unbelief/sin). While watching the Christian television channel, Benny Hinn, read these verses which God gave life to in my heart (I have inserted my name and pronoun referring to me to give you an idea of how it spoke to me): "Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel (Debbie) you shall become a plain! and he (she) shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of 'Grace, grace to it!" Zechariah 4:7
and "Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord of hosts." Zechariah 4:6b This meant to me that God was going to lay my mountain (circumstances) to a plain (really flat). Glory to God!! He did do as He said. It was many months before I saw the actual manifestation of my circumstance becoming as a flat plain. It turns out that my part was not only to believe with my heart, which was easy because God made it real to me, but I ended up finding out that that Trust would involve an action. The promise was 10 months in the making. I was sitting at my dinning room table praying because I hadn't been able to tithe (or I felt that I couldn't) because there wasn't enough money to pay the bills. Well, while praying it was either take what little we had in the checking account to pay one of many bills or to give it to God as our tithe. I expressed in prayer that I was going to trust Him and wrote the check to our church as tithe. Amazingly at around that same moment Kim was applying and getting a job that had been available to him for those ten months of having no job. (Keep in mind we weren't getting unemployment either.) He wanted to try something else. God caused my husband to go for that job and get it! Thank you Jesus for your faithfulness! If you have a favorite saying or verse that helps you to turn your attention towards God's ability in times of trial, why not email me to share it. We need to share with each other the comfort that God has given us. I pray that Jesus will bless you as you spend more time seeking Him. ![]()
