Toyota Tacoma Prerunner TRD
The truck on your right is a picture of my mom's Tacoma. Yes, that's right my mom's. That's what happens when you take your son and your husband w/ you to look for a new vehicle. What started out as a search for a simple extra pick-up truck ended up in the purchase of a fully- loaded Toyota Racing Development Baja racer worthy of Ivan Stewart.

What makes the Prerunner so special is it's intended design as an offroad racer. With that in mind, TRD racing specialists took the existing Tacoma and beefed-up the suspension by raising it nearly 2 feet off the ground, then adding Bilstein Shocks and 31 inch tires. Then they added a 3.4 liter DOHC V-6 upgrading from a 2.4 liter four. Normally aspirated she produces 190bhp. (To put that into perspective that's about the strength of 2 and a half Toyota Hi-Lux engines.)  She's more than capable of travelling 100mph (160kph) easily. To the surprise of many she's been known to overtake other trucks and cars uphill with no strain.
The 3.4 liter DOHC V-6 with 24 valves, rated at 190bhp. The strongest enging in it's class. No wonder considering other light trucks are still using 2.4 liter engines.
