Introduction

George GAY and Alphia BLACKMAR were married before 1809, probably in the state of New York. Their first two children were born in or near the town of Warren in Herkimer County, NY. They move down to Pennsylvania by 1813. George GAY was born in Connecticut and Alphia BLACKMAR was born in Rhode Island. I have successfully connected Alphia BLACKMAR to her parents and continue to search for the parents of George GAY.

A note written by Lois Marjorie HUGHES (1899-1990) states that "Three brothers named GAY came over from England. Ansel, John and George. George GAY - Son of one of these brothers".
