SEASON SEVEN SURPRISES

Note from Boz: I’ve only seen to the end of Season 5, so forgive any errors. ;-)
Disclaimer: Paramount owns these characters - I’m just having some fun...and otherwise with them. Besides which I think I can do a better job of letting them fulfil their destinies..........
1. SURPRISES WE’D LIKE TO SEE:
Last scene, Episode 1 - Kathryn returns to the ship, enters the bridge,
takes one look at Chakotay and instantly summons him to follow her into
the ready room. As the door closes, they grab at each other, rip their
clothes off and make wild, passionate love..........
WHAT WE’LL PROBABLY SEE:
Kathryn returns from being a Borg, goes in search of Seven, gives her a
PADD with a letter from her parents and they have a deep and meaningful
conversation about mothers and daughters............
2. SURPRISES WE’D LIKE TO SEE:
Voyager finally makes it home after reviewing Picard's logs again and
finally realising that they should’ve used a Borg transwarp conduit
years ago (duh-oh)....only Kathryn and Chakotay are left behind to say
goodbye to the ship. They walk onto the empty bridge, hand in hand,
turn and look at each other and suddenly they are all over each other,
ripping their clothes off - Chakotay lifts Kathryn onto the controls to
’have his wicked way with her’ and as they finally ‘do it’, her bare
backside comes into contact with the conn, Voyager lurches wildly (not
dislodging our happy couple who take no notice of what’s going
on)....turns around and heads back towards the Delta
Quadrant....setting a course for New Earth.........
WHAT WE’LL PROBABLY SEE:
Voyager returns to Earth after reviewing Picard's logs again and
finally realising that they should’ve used a Borg transwarp conduit
years ago (duh-oh). The crew are taken to a Star Fleet reception.
Admiral Paris presents them all with a medal. As the ceremony finishes,
Kathryn and Chakotay face each other - he shakes her hand and thanks
her for a wonderful trip and wanders off into the crowd; she collects
her seven years of backpay and catches the first shuttlecraft to find
Mark who never did get married.......
3. SURPRISES WE’D LIKE TO SEE:
Tom and B’Elanna finally make it to the altar - or the DQ equivalent -
for real this time. Kathryn has the privilege of marrying them whilst
Chakotay gives away the bride. At the reception on the holodeck
afterwards, Chakotay pulls Kathryn onto the dance floor. They are
totally absorbed in each other. Gradually all of the other dancers
leave the floor, leaving them in the middle.As the music finishes,
Chakotay drops to one knee and proposes to Kathryn who of course says
‘yes’. As they kiss each other passionately all of the crew
cheer.....fade out to romantic music.....
WHAT WE’LL PROBABLY SEE:
Whilst preparing for the Delta Flyer 2 races, Tom falls in love with a
beautiful, blond alien shuttlecraft mechanic and decides to leave
Voyager to join her in her business. B’Elanna breaks a few noses then
goes to look for Harry for some sympathy. They discover that they have
really been in love with each other all along and stutter along for a
few episodes tantalising viewers with occasional glimpses of "was that
really a T/K moment?".............
4.SURPRISES WE’D LIKE TO SEE:
Voyager receives another message from Star Fleet. This one contains
some new hologram programmes to relieve the boredom. One of them is the
Vic Fontaine programme which the crew love. One evening Vic begins to
sing "Come Fly With Me’. Chakotay leaps to his feet, takes the
microphone from Vic and begins to sing it to Kathryn who is sitting at
a table at the front of the room. He finishes the song as he reaches
her table where he bows low, takes her hand and kisses it. Cut to the
captain's quarters where we see - through soft focus lens, some
discreet writhings under the bedcovers with plenty of moaning and
‘sucky’ noises (vbeg)...........
WHAT WE’LL PROBABLY SEE:
Voyager receives another message from Star Fleet. This one contains
some new hologram programmes to relieve the boredom. One of them is the
Vic Fontaine programme which the crew love. Every week from then on we
are treated to Seven, crooning the ‘song of the week’ as the credits
roll..........
5. SURPRISES WE’D LIKE TO SEE:
As a new episode opens we realise that we are in one of the crew’s
quarters. The camera pans across to a bed - Star Fleet issue - and we
still wonder where we are. There are two occupants in the bed, hidden
under the blankets. As the camera focuses on the bed, the computer
intones "the time is 5am". There is a groan as one figure reacts and
sits up, stretching, and flings the covers off the other figure who
groans and turns over - it’s Chakotay. As he looks up at Kathryn and
grins, she suddenly says "Oh, damn the computer", leans towards him and
begins to kiss him passionately. We hear moaning as the scene fades
out......
WHAT WE’LL PROBABLY SEE:
As a new episode opens we realise that we are in one of the crew’s
quarters. The camera pans across to a bed - Star Fleet issue - and we
still wonder where we are. There are two occupants in the bed, hidden
under the blankets. As the camera focuses on the bed, the computer
intones "the time is 5am". There is a groan as one figure reacts and
sits up, stretching, and flings the covers off the other figure who
turns out to be a large, stuffed animal. A small plaintive voice is
heard calling out from the bed to another figure in a chair nearby --
just so you know she’s not talking to the other large, stuffed animal!
;-) -- "Uncle Neelix, I still can’t sleep. Can you please tell me a
Talaxian fairy tale?"............
6. SURPRISES WE’D LIKE TO SEE:
Its Christmas and there’s a few days of peace from the rigours of the
Delta Quadrant. Kathryn and Chakotay walk home, hand in hand from
Neelix’s crew party. Kathryn invites Chakotay into her quarters and
pours them each an eggnog. They sit, close together on the sofa, and
Chakotay pulls out a package and gives it to Kathryn. She slowly opens
the package and finds an ancient silver pocket watch - she looks up at
Chakotay and breathes, "Its so beautiful." As tears rise into her eyes,
he gently kisses her on the lips, then whispers into her ear, "My love,
I’ve been waiting for years for the right moment to give this to
you.".............
WHAT WE’LL PROBABLY SEE:
It’s Christmas and once again Voyager is in the clutches of a dastardly
alien species. The bridge is falling part, systems are failing all over
the ship. The exhausted crew haven’t had time to acknowledge that it’s
Christmas. Chakotay, disheveled and unshaven (yummy ;-) finds Kathryn,
mussed hair, look of determination on her face, trying to fix a fused
panel. She looks wearily at him; he pulls his hand out from behind his
back and sitting on his palm is a beautiful antique silver pocket
watch. He whispers to her "I’ve been saving this to give to you." She
wearily wipes a grimy hand across her forehead, fixes him with a death
glare and snaps "If I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a million
times....put that damn thing back into the replicator".......... (Ouch,
I'm sorry - that really hurt me, too......)
7. SURPRISES WE’D LIKE TO SEE:
The camera follows Chakotay down the corridor - he is dressed casually
and humming quietly. A red rose is held behind his back. He rings the
doorchime and waits. Receiving no reply, he steps into the captain’s
quarters and calls out uncertainly, "Kathryn....you here?"
"In here....follow the path......" a voice purrs. He notices the dimmed lights and a path of glowing candles along the floor. He follows them.......into the bathroom where we see, through a haze of steam, an obviously naked captain, deep in a bath-tub, festooned with bubbles, surrounded by flickering candlelight. We hear a gasp of breath and Chakotay begins to blush.
Kathryn smiles up at
him and says "Well, Mister, this is it....crunch time...and there’s no
monkey for an excuse this time." Chakotay grins down at her, his shirt
quickly flies to the floor, followed by his pants and we are treated to
fully naked back-on view as he steps into the tub......
WHAT WE’LL PROBABLY SEE:
The camera follows an unrecognisable figure down the corridor - he is
dressed casually and humming quietly. A white rose is held behind his
back. He rings the doorchime and waits. Receiving no reply, he steps
into the room and calls out uncertainly, "Seven....you here?"
"In here....follow the path......" a voice purrs. He notices the dimmed lights and a path of glowing candles along the floor. He follows them.......into the bathroom where we see, through a haze of steam, two large silicon islands bobbing on a sea of bubbles. We still only see the figure from the back, and as he sheds his clothes and steps towards the bath tub, we hear him mutter...."Well, Hitchcock always made an appearance in the films he produced and directed............"
8. SURPRISES WE’D LIKE TO SEE:
The crew are stricken by an alien disease for which there seems to be
no cure; only Seven and the EMH are unharmed. In the end, to give them
time to find the cure, the Captain makes the decision to put the entire
crew in stasis where they remain for a whole month. Finally the
combined genius and ingenuity of Seven and the EMH come to the rescue
and the crew are resuscitated and cured. Kathryn and Chakotay visit the
sickbay together to thank the EMH. Chakotay leans towards Kathryn (now
that’s a tiny bit that we have seen - see the July 2000 Voyager
Calendar photo… ha,ha!) and he whispers "You know after a month, a
man’s got a pretty big itch that needs scratching, Kathryn." She
smiles, a wicked smile, takes him by the hand, demands a site to site
transport and we leave them, naked, rolling on the floor of her
quarters in unbridled passion.........
WHAT WE’LL PROBABLY SEE:
The crew are stricken by an alien disease for which there seems to be

long, passionate (?) kiss between the EMH and Seven.............
.......well, maybe not passionate....but then again, the EMH has had
some practice and a month is a long time for him to have given Seven
some professional development!!!!!
9. SURPRISES WE’D LIKE TO SEE:
Opening scene - two figures are in a darkened turbo-lift. As Voyager
lurches they are thrown together. We see them clutch each other in a
fierce embrace then jump apart slightly embarrassed and we realise it
is the Captain and Chakotay. The Captain calls for an open comm-link to
engineering. A hassled B’Elanna answers and informs the Captain that
the turbo-lifts and transporters are down and it is likely to be some
time before they are back on-line.
The Captain looks at Chakotay and says "Well, Commander, seems we have some time to kill; what do you suggest?"
He looks down at her and says with a devastating dimpled grin, "Well, if this were Kathryn I was talking to, not the Captain, I’m sure I’d find plenty to do."
Looking up at him, she whispers "It’s me, Chakotay...just Kathryn..."
"Well, Just Kathryn...."
The scene fades out to the sight and sounds of deep kissing and moaning.
Next scene.........B’Elanna forces open the doors of the turbo-lift and is stunned to find only a pile of uniforms....and undergarments lying on the floor...."Computer, locate Captain Janeway and Commander Chakotay...." .............cut to Chakotay’s quarters where two figures are entwined on his couch, alternately kissing and giggling. "That was close, " he whispers....thank the spirits B’El got the transporters on-line before the turbolifts"..........then suddenly they look at each other in horror as they realise what they have left behind........
[Note from Boz:Okay, okay, I know - this is the hoariest old chestnut in J/C fanficdom but I’ve never written one of these so I’ve now cleared my slate on that one - besides which, I’m running out of ideas (snerk!)]

10. SURPRISES WE’D LIKE TO SEE:
The final episode......Voyager has returned to Earth, minus the Delta
Flyer Two and Seven, Tom, B’Elanna, and Harry who are pronounced
missing in action after a rough ride back to the AQ. Starfleet has
decided that Chakotay can take the rap for all of the Maquis and he has
to stand trial. Things do not go well. Kathryn is forced to take the
stand and does her best to defend him, putting herself in a vulnerable
position with Starfleet and leading the news media to begin speculating
about ‘The Captain and the handsome Maquis Renegade’. Finally the trial
draws to an end and Chakotay is asked to stand to hear the verdict. As
he is pronounced guilty and sentenced to life in jail in the New
Zealand penal colony (now, that wouldn’t be toooo bad, would it ?
Sigh!), Kathryn rushes out of the crowd, grabs him by the hand, taps
her com badge and yells "Now!" They disappear into a transporter
twinkle..........
Cut to a shot of the Delta Flyer in low orbit, then we see, inside the Flyer, Kathryn and Chakotay materialise and hug each other...(okay....maybe a kiss here).....as Tom and B’Elanna reactivate the Borg shielding which they have had to drop for the transport........
Cut to a Borg cube, hanging, motionless, just on the far side of the moon. Inside we see Borg, minus many of their implants, severed from the collective and working together as a team. Their captain, conspicuous by her silhouette and silver jumpsuit, activates a tractor beam which pulls the Delta Flyer aboard. On the viewscreen of the Delta Flyer, we see Seven.
"Mission accomplished, Captain, welcome aboard my vessel." She turns to her crew on a bridge which appears to be an amalgamation of Borg and Starfleet technology; "Commander, set a course for the Delta Quadrant."
"Aye, ma’am," replies Commander Kim.
As the huge cube goes into transwarp, we cut to Tom and B’Elanna, hugging each other, then pan to Kathryn and Chakotay, kissing. They pull apart for a moment and stare into each other’s eyes, then with a huge grin he says, "New Earth, here we come"...........fade to music.........
WHAT WE’LL PROBABLY SEE:
The final episode....................Voyager has returned to Earth. Tom
is reconciled with his father who takes the prospect of being a
grandfather of quarter-Klingon twins very calmly. After debriefing,
Chakotay is pardoned and Kathryn is commended. She is offered a choice
between and Admiralship or command of the Enterprise now that Jean-Luc
has disappeared with the Baku and Will and Deanna Riker have taken over
management of the Riser entertainment colony. She opts for the
Enterprise, but asks for leave first so that she can get married.
Chakotay is offered a job in covert operations or a teaching job at the Academy. He chooses the job at the Academy, hoping that it may give him more time to spend with the woman he intends to ask to become his wife.
Chakotay and Kathryn meet as arranged outside Starfleet Headquarters and hug briefly - it would be against protocol for the captain of the Enterprise to do more than this. "Its been an amazing seven years," he whispers.
"Sure has," she whispers back. "I hope your new job is everything that you want it to be. And now, if I’m not mistaken, there’s a young woman over there who is waiting for you to go and ask her a very important question."
He grins and gives a mock salute. "Sure is, Captain. See you at the wedding?"
She nods her head and smiles a crooked and friendly smile as he turns away and takes the hand of Anneke Hansen, formerly known as Seven of Nine, who has been waiting under a nearby tree. We see them in a short conversation then she squeals and throws her arms around him and they are lost in a kiss.
Kathryn continues to smile and turns to face Mark who has been waiting for her - she twists the diamond ring on her finger as she walks towards him and hugs him tight............fade to music............
URK - sorry, but if the end of TNG is anything to go by, I think this’s what we’ll get!!!!!!......and I nearly had Riley Fraser instead of Seven of Nine :-)
