Room of the Wheel

"The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a new wind rose across the landscape. This new wind was not a beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning."

This is the first line in the first chapter of each book in the Wheel of Time series, written by Robert Jordan.  Even though this line is always the same, the tales that are past it are always different.

What is the Wheel of Time, you ask?  Well, it can be compared to the Lord of the Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien, I suppose.

The first book of the series, Eye of the World, tells the tale of five people that leave a small village in the remotest parts of the country of Andor after grotesque creatures that could only be described as monsters attack it the night before:  Rand al'Thor, Matrim Cauthon, Perrin Aybara, Egwene al'Vere and Nynaeve al'Meara, as well as a woman named Moiraine and her protector, Lan.  The fates of these village folks will affect the fate of not only the entire world, but that of all creation, and the more people that they meet, the more that are drawn into this fate.  And that's only the beginning...

There are currently 10 books in the main series, as well as a prequel book or two, with more being written.  These are:

#1-- Eye of the World
#2-- The Great Hunt
#3-- The Dragon Reborn
#4-- The Shadow Rising
#5-- The Fires of Heaven
#6-- Lord of Chaos
#7-- A Crown of Swords
#8-- The Path of Daggers
#9-- Winter's Heart
#10-- Crossroads of Twilight

Prequel Book-- New Spring

There is also a large book called "The World of Robert Jordan's the Wheel of Time" that is out, which is often also called the Big White Book.  Plus, coming relatively soon is the eleventh book, "Knife of Dreams."

On here, in the future, I will be giving some synopses on each of the books, as well as mention my favorite characters.  I may even list some of my favorite quotes.
