Hints
Working time is precious time, don't give any away!
"You can win the event in the speed task, you can lose it faster in the distance task!" A quote from at least one hundred F3B flyers.
Advanced Teamwork
Calling Air:
Before sending anyone to better air, be at least 85% sure it is better air. Realize the altitude loss during transit. Don't look at someone up high and believe there is still good air underneath. Don't believe an airplane going up is good air or that one going down is in sink. Conditions change, air moves, help your pilot stay in it.
Duration:
F3B is tough, don't go running to good air and let everyone know where it is. It's you vs. them for 1,000 points, how close do you want them to get? Pick at the air, use it as necessary to stay up. Decide early to relaunch or stick with the flight. If you're on your second flight make sure you get down before working time runs out, we're talking about what could be 20-40% of your points. Land safe, land close.
Distance:
Pilots won't take their eyes off their plane in this task. You must be their eyes and at times their minds. Pilots can't look at the clock, give them time checks more often than you think necessary. Pilot's, if you feel the information from your mates is confusing you ask if you should relaunch. Help maximize the number of laps for the pilot. His flying here helps or hurts you here. Get the info out on time, give it out so he can make a decision, not just waste time listening. Land safe, land close on relaunches.
Speed:
Be ready to start working time right after the pilot in front of you. Be ready to launch at the start of working time. You have a team, don't enter the course on a bad launch or in bad air. Be ready to go back for the missed turn. Relax, go back, make an assessment and finish the course. Land safe and close on the relaunches, time is very precious in this task.
