 Professional Assignments:  

Served as Project Manager for a $600+ million MRO distribution firm. My responsibilities  primarily dealt with incorporating third party vendor software to replace outmoded modules contained on legacy systems.  My activities ranged from: project scope development, design, project planning, budgeting, through implementation and coordination of training efforts for an on time, on-budget deployment. Handled both complex business analysis and technical issues through resolution.  Provided technical direction throughout the entire project life-cycle including vendor search and selection. Managed both in-house technical resources and outside implementation teams when needed.  Assembled all required parties into tiered core teams. Scheduled and conducted project kick offs and regular status meetings. Handled multiple large-scale projects concurrently.  Projects included implementation of E3 Trim replenishment system trading bi-directional information from PICK based legacy RS/6000 and RPG based AS400 vendor software. Implemented multi-phased JD Edwards OneWorld XE on SQL platform to replace existing General Ledger and Accounts Payable systems enabling the generation of consolidated financials between parent company and multi national/multi currency acquisitions.  This  involved multiple legacy systems. Coordinated business and technical efforts on both Legacy and Vendor supported software packages.  Performed hands-on conversions and data mergers resulting from company acquisitions.   These conversions included complex merging of three stand-alone E3 Trim replenishment systems. Was responsible for Vendor relations. Created consolidated Data Warehouse. Performed technical project management as part of a team on both SPS commerce B2B e-commerce project, and inventory management relating to conversion of realigning 50+ nationwide warehouses into a two tiered National Distribution System. 

Various consulting projects which included Y2K assessment and replacement of existing system for multi-million Equestrian distribution firm.  Acted as Project Manager performing full project life cycle.  This project included distribution, financial, garment manufacturing, retail/wholesale and catalogue sales efforts. Project was completed within ten months from inception.  Prepared technical efforts for company relocation. Other efforts included Database design and deployment within a third party medical billing firm.  

For the travel division of a major trade publisher provide worldwide ongoing support and development of PICK based back office financial systems running under a UNIX environment on a RS/6000.  Acted as business and technical person responsible for conversion of the divisional open account receivables and their continuing daily interface to the parent company residing in Newton Massachusetts .  Supervise two consultants in major projects including system upgrades and Y2K remediation.  Acting as Unix system administrator.  Cross platform interfaces with other divisions as well as desktop and web applications in-house.  Some use of visual basic and Visual Interdev. 

Working independently or with groups in performing full cycle data processing consulting services.  Needs assessment for both Hardware/Software complete systems analysis, design, programming, and implementation on various hardware platforms including PC, midrange, and client server environments.  Serviced clients in a wide range of industries including Manufacturing, Garment, Distribution, Banking, Managed Care, and Retail. For a large Hardware/Software distributor performed programming on Honeywell, DEC and Ultimate machines in a PICK  operating system environment using Basic programming.  Responsible for customization and demonstration of a distribution software package.  Support and maintenance of a rapidly growing client base in the distribution industry.  Use of 4th GL language for major customization of an encumbrance payable system for Municipal Authorities.  Use of PICK utilities including Proc, Editor, and Recall. 

For this major software and services firm was responsible for providing technical support for client software via telephone and site visits.  Utilize Basic in a PICK operating system environment on Microdata and Mentor hardware.  Designed and implemented customized software to meet client and internal needs. 

For  Retail Banking operating in an IBM 4341 environment running under  DOS/VSE was responsible for approving  production software.   Developed standards for Quality Assurance testing, instructed junior  associates in methods and procedures of Q/A.  Other duties included  maintaining existing retail banking system developed in COBOL accessing VSAM files. 

For this major software and services firm responsible for preparing releases for software along with documentation Application software focused on manufacturing needs including MRP Capacity Planning, and Job Cost.  Software was tested for adherence to standards and technical specifications.   Performed technical functions  necessary for the position; conversions, developed automated data verification.  Prepared departmental reports.  Developed training procedures and programs.  Frequent interaction with support and   programming departments.

Working at the corporate level assisting regional personnel nationwide  with client problems on PICK based systems on Microdata, Mentor and Altos hardware platforms.  Troubleshooting software for clients via modems.  Frequent interaction with regional personnel and corporate  product development.  Performed quality assurance testing for software  released to regions.  

Programmer advancing from junior programmer/lead operator in a  small manufacturing firm.  Performed applications design and coding in both COBOL on an IBM 370 and in Basic on a Basic IV system.  participated in the development of the Job Cost system in addition  to maintenance and upgrading of existing systems.

Summary of Consulting Experience

As an independent consultant all consulting work was done on a support maintenance contract or an ad hoc basis for various clients simultaneously.

  For a Major Health Care Provider maintained and enhanced existing PHSP Medicaid based managed care software on RS6000 in a Unix environment.  Major emphasis of support and implementation focused on state regulatory reporting requirements, utilization management and Provider Relations.  Assistance in conversion of existing MHC software application on a PICK based system with System Builder front end to a  AS400 based  platform utilizing CSC software application combined with SAS reporting and data warehousing.  Use of Query400 and other tools to extract data cross platforms along with creation of  Microsoft ACCESS databases and applications for desktop use by various departments.  Design, coding, implementation and support of software to facilitate provider network reporting to the New York State office of managed care via the internet.  Heavy interaction with hospital, outside service providers and technical personnel at the state level.  Design of modularized Dental Services add-on.

   For a large Distributor of Equestrian Products worked as acting MIS Manager. Provided systems support and application development on Legacy GA PICK system and interconnectivity with NT server and INTERNET.  Dealt with Cross-platform and it’s TCP/IP issues between  Macintosh, PICK, Windows95, and the NT server and LAN administration  Provided support, implementation and training of Sales force utilizing laptops with Windows95  and ACT! contact manager database,  also remote access functionality connections via FTP, telnet, MS exchange, Eudora and various other  e-mail  configurations.  Conversion of and integration of newly merged companies inventory and financial FoxPro database.  Application Development  for Senior Management database and reporting utilizing  MS/ACCESS.  Analysis and planning of corporate intranet. 

   For a large Distributor of Office Supplies provided technical support, maintenance and development programming on a customized version of the Systems House Software package which encompasses distribution practices and all general financials in an Internationally based company.  Preparation for ISO9002. .  This was done in  Sequoia PICK TOPIX environment.  System utilization and optimization for conversion to Sun/Unidata.

   For a large Legal Firm managed a Advanced Revelation database and software package geared toward tort litigation.  Provided Attorneys with all necessary documentation in regards to pending and closed cases.  Database and all current processing functions were  being converted from Advanced Revelation to Oracle7 Structured implementation plan for conversion along with design for enhanced functionality.

  For a Major Database Software Firm worked support as a Developer Systems Engineer assisting developers with DOS and WINDOWS based software on various PC,  midrange, and client server system configurations  internationally.  Support included troubleshooting company software, Advanced Revelation (all versions) and OpenInsight  its interaction and potential problems with various Network and communication software such as Banyan Vines, Novell Netware, TCP/IP.  Also utilizing  various other software bases such as SQL, Dbase, & Universe.

  For a Major Health Care organization maintained and enhanced existing HMO software.  Major customizations included creating methods of grouping Physicians and subscribers for specialized capitation/funding. Servicing Medicare and Medicaid Subscribers as well. This was performed on a Sequoia utilizing Ultimate Pick Basic in a UNIX environment.

  For a Major Stock Rating Firm performed Maintenance on existing software for subscription services Utilizing PICK basic in conjunction with System Builder 4th GL  in a Prime/Unidata environment.  Created Monetary conversion software for existing system.

   For a Major software vendor performed contract work  concerning retrofitting custom software modifications into their current  software release.  Application was written for Furniture industry.  This was performed in Advanced PICK on  an IBM RS6000 running in a AIX environment.

   For an International Silver distributor/retailer performed full cycle consulting services under a maintenance contract.  Major customization of the Systems House distribution software package written in PICK basic.  Provided programming, support and client training over a 3 year  period.  Responsible for needs assessment.  Designed, programmed and  implemented custom FIFO, Sales Analysis and Purchasing modules.  Created PC to Mainframe interaction using Viaduct communication software and additional PICK programming.  Major project also included  conversion of data housed on DEC  hardware platform running under  Ultimate PICK environment to an IBM AS400  platform.  Supervised work subcontracted for this project.

   For a small software consulting firm performed full cycle consulting services on different hardware platforms all utilizing Ultimate PICK and  4th GL  languages.  Subcontracted work was performed for numerous clients.  Highlights include the following:
