from the obedience ring earning her CD in 4 trials and her CDX in 5. Mitzi went on to earn Highest Scoring Non-Sporting Dog in Trial on several occasions. German Shorthaired Pointers and all three varieties of Poodles also became members of the Desara legacy earning high praises and titles in the breed ring. In 1986 all showing was put on hold due to personal circumstances and a cross-country move. Even during this hiatus the love of dogs and the show ring still beckoned.
After returning to the East Coast, a long time dream was realized. After looking into the breed for several years and being awed by their sheer elegance and majesty, a Borzoi came into our lives. Not long afterward a second Borzoi joined the Desara homestead adding to our beloved menagere.
It was in the form of a gracious gift of a wriggly red Miniature Pinscher puppy that we found our "forever breed". Like a potato chip, one wasn't enough and
soon others followed their way into our hearts, home and ring. Thru the mentoring and trust of those incredible breeders who guided us, we hope to establish a bloodline of MinPins that embodies the type, balance and fluid grace
that not only has the look of a winner but can wear the heart and title of a champion both in the ring and in the home.
At present our home is filled with the boundless energy, grace and love of our treasured pets and champions. They are all as devoted to each other as they are to us. They are all minstrels of heartstrings! We hope that when you see the
"Desara" name you'll know that this is where legends and love begin.
