A MESSAGE FROM... OUR WORSHIPFUL MASTER...
Brethren,
At our February Stated Meeting we had a significant increase in members present, however several members came to the Dinner, but didn't stay for the meeting. We had some new old faces, but our new old faces from last month weren't able to make it back this month. Our Committee Chairmen had positive reports for the most part. As you can see from your Digest we have under gone a change. The Digest will be a four-page newsletter to better get the information out to our members who cannot make the Stated Meeting but wish to know what is going on. As we improve our Digest the committees will begin posting their own news worthy items. If you would like to participate on one of the Committees or you have something of interest you would like to see in the newsletter, please let one of the Officers know. We had our second Fish Bowl Drawing of the year. Brother John R. Walker's name was drawn, however Brother Walker was not present to win the $100 cash prize, so the $100 will roll over to the March Stated Meeting making the Fish Bowl Drawing worth $150. In our Stated Meeting Dinner Drawing Brother Bill Hubbard won the Grand Prize, which was a $50 Gift Certificate to Oak Court Mall. Other drawing winners were Elbert Martz who won a 6" Fillet Knife with holster, and Frank Cherry who won a gold pocket watch wall clock. Our Grand Prize for the March 7th Stated Meeting Dinner Drawing will be a $50 Gift Certificate to Target. Everyone who stayed for the Stated Meeting was able to put another ticket in the box for the Grand Prize Drawing in December. Don't forget, the more times you attend the Stated Meeting the more chances you will have to win.
In our continued efforts to get our spouses involved during 2002, the spouses will have a Recipe Swap at the next Stated Meeting. Each Lady will bring 3 of their favorite recipes to talk about and swap. Our Manicure/Pedicurist Speaker gave all our Ladies a manicure and answered all their questions concerning manicures and pedicures during the last Stated Meeting.
Faternally,
Tim Cook, WM

Annual Valentine Dinner
Our Annual Valentine's Dinner was held on Saturday, February 9th and was a huge success. We had a great turnout with over 72 guests in which to honor our Outstanding Lady Wilma Clement. Wilma has supported DeSoto Lodge and her husband Bob for over 50 years. The Worshipful Master presented a plaque to our Outstanding Lady along with a large box of candy. |

March Stated Meeting Dinner
Our Dinner Menu for next month is chili with an assortment of vegetables and deserts. The Ladies out did themselves at the February Dinner by putting on a spread fit for Kings. Needless to say there were no leftovers. If you would like to participate and bring something, please contact the Junior Warden Dennis Pope at 483-6111 or our First Lady Mary Cook at 681-0858.
