A MESSAGE FROM...
OUR WORSHIPFUL MASTER...

Brethren,
If you missed the Annual Memorial Day Breakfast, you missed a real good time.   The food was great and the company was even better.   We had a lot of members at the District Meeting representing DeSoto Lodge despite the thunderstorms and pouring rain.   All your elected officers were there, along with 17 members and one guest.   Thank you Sandra Muench.   A special thanks goes to our Senior Steward Greg Howard who had just been released from the hospital and made the meeting; and to Brother Harold Ricketts who was in attendance despite his mother passing away the night before the meeting.   Our heart-felt sympathies and condolences go out to Brother Harold and his family for their loss.
Brother Harold Ricketts' name was drawn from the Fish Bowl that was worth $300 and Brother Ricketts was present to win.   Congratulations Brother Ricketts.   The July Stated Meeting Fish Bowl Drawing will be worth $50.   In our Stated Meeting Dinner Drawing Brother Gene Major, PM won the Grand Prize, which was a $50 Gift Certificate to the Lowe's Hardware and Garden Center.   Other drawing winners were David Johnson, PM and Curtis Phillipy.   Our Grand Prize for the July 2nd Stated Meeting Dinner Drawing will be a $50 Gift Certificate to Houston's Restaurant located at 5000 Poplar Ave.   Don't forget the Stated Meeting for July will be on Tuesday, July 2nd not Thursday, July 4th.
The theme for our July Stated Meeting Dinner is barbecue with all your favorite side items and an assortment of delicious deserts.   Suggestions are requested for the August Dinner theme.   We can always use more participants, so please contact the Junior Warden Dennis Pope or the First Lady Mary Cook.
Don't forget our Annual Picnic, which will be held on Saturday, June 15th starting at Noon at Shelby Farms.   Your Entertainment Committee has worked very hard to set this year's Picnic up and make it a very special event.   Please check the schedules listed in your Monthly Digest, on the Internet at our website, and please pay particular attention to any insert we place in your Monthly Digest.

                                                                                Faternally,
                                                                                Tim Cook, WM
