| Martin Broduer was named to the Eastern Conference All Start team along with the Scott Stevens. It will be Brodeur's seventh All Star Game and Stevens's 13th. The game is on Febuary 2nd in Florida. |

| The Devils sent defenseman Mikko Jokela to the Canucks in exchange for left wing Steve Kariya, the younger brother of Anaheim captain Paul Kariya on Jan. 24. Kariya played 65 games with the Canucks over three seasons, but has spent all of this year with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL |
