In Loving memory of

Kristina Marie Cabral

November 19th, 2001 - December 10th, 2001

The story of Sad Face never seemed more real than this moment. My closest friend and Godfather of my children, Michael Cabral, just lost his baby girl. She was born with an extra chromosome 18. Her name was Kristina Marie (which means "God's Reflection").

I won't pretend to understand the reasons why and I dont think I want to.

Cynthia, Michaels wife, has the sweetest spirit and always has an open and welcoming home.
When someone asks me what I picture as a true Christian, "Mike" is always my answer. He is truly a man who follows Christ in His love.
Their marriage and commitment to each other, above all earthly relationships, is a great example to me and my wife.
Maybe that is why God chose them to be Kristina's parents, because He knew that she would find this Great Love in Michael and Cyndi during her short life.
Mike and Cyndi - When I look at you I see Christ. Thank you for being Him to me and to so many others.

My wife has the honor of watching the two oldest of their three lovable sons today as Mike and Cyndi go about the business that no parent should ever have to endure.
Please be in prayer for this family. As I am sure that they are in need of God's comfort even more than I can imagine.

If you are wondering "is there something I can do" I am sure that an encouraging note would be most welcome. I am uncertain of how they are handling this financially but I am sure that the Provider is with them.

Sad Face

By the Choir

There's a crystal in the window
Throwing rainbows around
There's a girl by the mirror
And her feet won't touch the ground
'Cause she never saw the sky so bright
Isn't that like a cloud, to come by night
Nevermind the sky
There's a tear in her eye

A sad face is good for the heart
Go on cry, does it seem a cruel world?
A sad face is good for the heart of a girl
A sad face

There's a woman in my kitchen
With a rainbow on her cheek
Well isn't that a promise?
Still I never felt so weak
There's a tiny spirit in a world above
Cradled so sweetly in our Father's love
So you don't have to cry
No there's something in my eye

A sad face is good for the heart
Maybe just now I don't understand
A sad face is good for the heart of a man
A sad face

A sad face is good for the heart
It's alright you don't have to smile
A sad face is good for the heart of a child
For the heart of a child
For the heart of a child
For the heart of a child
A sad face
A sad face...

This song was written by the Choir when one of the members of that band lost his baby. I don't remember the details but the song seems appropriate now.

Ecclesiastes 7:2-4

It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of every man; the living should take this to heart.
Sorrow is better than laughter, because a sad face is good for the heart.
The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, but the heart of fools is in the house of pleasure.
