Enjoyed your site. Reading stories about survivors or TBI helps me not feel so isolated (especially with the medical community.) I'm glad you found a special love after TBI, so did I. Gary is the greatest. I didn't realize that TBI could be a cause of distrust, too.

Darlene, Your website is great! the only suggestion I have is that you should have a link back to homepage at end of each page you view,so we cannavigate your pages better. I can see your a fighter and an RN like I am. I intend to do another page to lin to my website, especially for nurses, centered around my poem, "Touch", here I remember the feelings I had trapped in my body trying to communicate with the nurses while in my comatose state resulting from my head injury before I came out of my coma. Dear Darlene, Your experiences due to your accident are horrible but you emerge as "the winner". I am a fellow TBI survivor, and I share some, but not all, of the post-injury misery that you experience. I am grateful that I don't suffer migraines (yet; my mother has uffered years & years with them)and I'm fortunate that I didn't suffer much physical damage from my incident. Your story makes me feel lucky that I have what I have, when I often feel like I can't do anything beneficial for anyone. I seem pretty confuse w/ some perceived mental problems on my bad days, but usually I can come away from a social situation without making people think "He sure repeats himself a lot" (which I seem to do a lot more than I'm aware of)or brings up inappropriate stories acoordin to what's being said in some situations. These behaviors I become aware of much after the fact when I'm prompted by someone's comments or by my fiance (talk about a patient woman!). Anyhow, I want to tell you that I admire your strength and will to kee going. Your husband is fortunate to have such a fighter.
