Applesauce Raisin Bread
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 cup applesauce
1/4 cup oleo
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
2 cups flour
2 tsp.baking powder
3/4 tsp.salt
1/2 tsp.baking soda
1/2 tsp.cinnamon
1 tsp.nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 cup raisins
pecans or walnuts
In a bowl, combine egg, applesauce, butter and sugars. Blend well. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt, soda and spices. Stir until smooth. Stir in raisins and nuts. Bake in well greased loaf pan at 350* about 1 hour. Cool before removing from pan. Yields 1 loaf. Easy. May be frozen.
