Golden Nugget Meatballs


1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 1/2 cup, bread crumbs
1/3 cup, chopped green pepper
1/3 cup, chopped onion
1/3 cup ketchup
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. minced garlic
salt & pepper to taste
4 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 cup all purpose flour
3 Tbsp. bacon drippings
2 (8 oz.) cans tomatoe sauce

Combine first 8 ingredients, mixing well. Shape mixture into balls, making about 16 meatballs. Dredge in flour. Brown in bacon drippings over medium heat in a large skillet. Pour off drippings, draining well.
Pour tomatoe sauce over meatballs in skillet; cover and simmer 20 minutes. Remove cover and simmer 5 minutes or until sauce thichens. Makes 6 servings.
