Ham and Broccoli Royale
1 cup rice
2 pkg. frozen broccoli
6 Tbsp. oleo
2 cup bread crumbs
2 large onions, chopped
3 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 cups milk
1 1/2 lb. cooked ham, cubed (about 4 cups)
8 oz. sliced American cheese
Cook rice and put into greased 13 X 9 X 2 inch baking dish. Cook broccoli and drain well. Place in a layer over rice. Melt two Tbsp. of the oleo and drizzle over bread crumbs. Set aside. Cook onions in remaining oleo until soft. Add flour, salt and pepper; cook until bubbly. stir in milk. Cook and stir until thick and boil 1 minute. Stir in ham and heat until bubbly. Pour sauce over all layers in dish. Place cheese slices over the sauce and crumbs over all. Cover and chill. Bake at 350 deg. for 45 minutes.
