JAMWICHES


3/4 cup Crisco
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup, strawberry jam
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 cup, chopped nuts

Cream Crisco and sugar. Beat in eggs. Sift flour with salt. Add Crisco mixture. Fold in nuts; pat 1/2 dough in pan. Smooth and pack down. Spread jam over dough. Cover with remaining dough. Bake at 350* for 30 to 40 minutes or until light brown. Cool; cut into squares. Other jams or jellies may be used.
