OATMEAL BARS


BARS:

1 cup quick oats
1 1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda

TOPPING:

1 cup brown sugar
4 Tbsp cream
6 Tbsp. oleo
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup shredded coconut

Mix oats, water and oleo; let stand 20 minutes. Cream together sugar and eggs; add to oat mixture. Stir in flour and soda, then spread in greased jellyroll pan and bake at 350* for 25 minutes.
Topping: Boil sugar, cream and margarine 1 1/2 minutes. Stir in nuts and coconut; spread on bars. Yields 49. EASY.
