2 cups sliced onions.
1/2 Tbsp. Karo syrup.
3 Tbsp. Wesson oil.
5 cups, brown soup stock.
1 Tbsp. cornstarch.
6 large sq. toasted bread or croutons.
3/4 cup, grated cheese. (your favorite)
Cook onions in Karo syrup and oil until soft and tender. Add cornstarch (stirring well), stock, salt & pepper. Bring to a boil; place squares of toast (or croutons)in each individual soup bowl. Ladle out the boiling soup and sprinkle thickly with the grated cheese. Serves 6 to 8.
