Meg and Ben are kissing in bed

MEG: Well, it’s January 1st. The start of a whole new millennium.

BEN: A whole new millennium where we will be together always.

MEG: Well, I think that we should get up.

Suddenly Benjy comes bursting into the room.

BENJY: Daddy, why is Meg in your bed?

SCENE 2- Surf Central

Gabi is bringing her last suitcase down the stairs, when she hears a knock at the door. She goes to answer it. Ricardo is standing there.

GABI (surprised): Ricardo.

SCENE 3- Maria’s Beach House

Maria is unpacking and she hears a knock at the door; She walks over to answer the door and opens it.

MARIA: Mama!

CARMEN: Mija, how are you doing this morning?

MARIA: Just great. I think that the new year is going to be one of the best years of my life.

CARMEN: Oh, mija, I hope so.

She grabs her daughter and hugs her.

SCENE 4- The Richards Home

Annie is bringing a suitcase down the stairs; Olivia walks in from the family room.

OLIVIA: Annie, am I seeing correctly? You are moving out…?

ANNIE: That’s right. Jude asked me to move in with him.

OLIVIA: Believe it or not, Annie. I’m happy for you. You finally found someone who loves you.

ANNIE: Thanks.

OLIVIA: You know Sean and Caitlin told me that they thought that you have changed.

ANNIE: Changed?

OLIVIA: I think that you have definitely grown up quite a bit.

ANNIE: Well, thank you, Olivia. Who would of thought that we could of ever been cordial to one another?

They smile at each other

SCENE 5- County Prison

Gregory is sitting in his cell

GREGORY (to himself): It’s not over yet. Not by a long shot.

OPENING CREDITS

SCENE 6- Surf Central

RICARDO: Are you leaving now?

GABI: Yes.

RICARDO: Don’t go.

GABI: Ricardo, I have to go. It’s the right thing to do.

RICARDO: What if I told you that I still loved you and I wanted you to stay.

GABI: I still love you too, but I can’t stay.

RICARDO: Why?

GABI: Too much has happened.

RICARDO: Gabi, just listen to me.

GABI: It doesn’t matter what you have to say. Nothing is going to change my mind.

Ricardo looks at Gabi, deeply hurt

SCENE 7- Ben and Meg’s house

BEN: Benjy, come here.

Benjy gets up on the bed

BEN: Son, Meg and I are involved now. I love her and I want to be with her.

BENJY: Like Mommy and that man?

BEN: Ross, you mean? Well, I don’t know if your Mommy loves him the way I love Meg, but kind of like that.

BENJY (to Meg): So does this mean that I have two Mommies now?

MEG: Benjy, your Mommy will always be your mommy, but I love you, sweetheart. We’re friends, right?

BENJY: Right. MEG: Ok, go downstairs and I’ll pour you a bowl of cereal.

BENJY: Can I have Captain Crunch?

MEG: You sure can.

BENJY: All right!

Benjy runs out of the room

BEN: You are really great with him, you know?

MEG: Thanks, I try.

Ben smiles at Meg and they begin to kiss again

SCENE 8- Richards Home

Cole, Caitlin, Sean and Emily all walk through the door

COLE: Are you leaving, Annie?

ANNIE: Yes, I am.

CAITLIN: Well, Annie. I can’t believe I am saying this but good luck.

ANNIE: Thanks, Caitlin.

SEAN: You know, Annie. Over the last couple years, you’ve really been a huge--- well, let’s just say I’m glad that you are finally happy.

EMILY: Yeah, you’re not such a bad cousin to have after all.

Annie smiles

COLE: Olivia, Caitlin and I have some great news for you.

OLIVIA: What’s that?

CAITLIN: Well, Mom. We are staying in Sunset Beach.

OLIVIA: That’s wonderful! I am so happy!

ANNIE: Well, I guess I’ll see you around. I have to get going. Good-bye.

ALL: Good-bye.

CAITLIN: Mom, do you really think that Annie will stay like this?

OLIVIA: It will wear off in time. And the Annie we know and hate will be back. But you never know, she might surprise us.

SCENE 9- Surf Central

GABI: Ricardo, please, I have to go.

RICARDO: Gabi, we need to talk this through.

GABI: We already have. Good-bye.

She walks past him with her luggage

SCENE 10- Brad’s House

Amy awakens and walks to Brad’s room; Little does she know that Brad is getting dressed; She walks in on him and sees him completely naked.

AMY: Brad, I’m so sorry.

She looks down but still peeks at Brad as he puts a towel on

SCENE 11-Jude’s Apartment

Jude is lying in bed dreaming about Annie. Annie begins to sneak her way into bed with him and surprises him

JUDE: I was just thinking about you.

ANNIE: Oh, are you sure that it wasn’t some other woman that you fantasized about.

JUDE: I’m sure. You’re the only woman in my fantasies.

They begin to make love

SCENE 12- Ben and Meg’s house

Ben comes downstairs as Meg is sitting on the couch just absolutely happy about life in general.

BEN: Meg, I have a surprise for you.

MEG: Oh?

BEN: I think it’s something you are going to like.

MEG: Really?

Ben hands her an envelope; Meg opens it.

MEG: Venice! Oh, my god!

BEN: We leave first thing tomorrow.

MEG: Oh, Ben! I can’t believe this!

She hugs him and then kisses him; Benjy comes out from the kitchen

BENJY: All done!

BEN: Ok, Benjy, it’s time for me to take you over to your mother’s. You are going to be staying with her for a few days.

BENJY: Why? Are you going away?

BEN: For a little while.

MEG: But don’t worry, your Daddy and I will be back before you know it.

BENJY: I’ll miss you, Daddy. And Meg, I’ll miss you, too.

Meg smiles and is at a loss for words; Ben smiles at Meg.

SCENE 13- Brad’s House

AMY: I’m so sorry, Brad. I had no idea.

BRAD: Don’t worry about it. I’m not embarrassed.

AMY: Remember that change of heart I had?

BRAD: Yeah.

AMY: Well, it’s gone and I am going to do everything I can to get Sean away from Emily.

Brad rolls his eyes and looks up and shakes his head

SCENE 14- Maria’s Beach House

Carmen and Maria are still hugging; The door bell rings.

MARIA: I’ll be right back, Mama.

Maria opens the door to find Ben, Meg and Benjy.

BENJY: Mommy!

MARIA: Hi, sweetheart.

She gives him a big hug

BEN: Well, Benjy. We’re off. But we’ll miss you.

MEG: We sure will.

MARIA: Before you go, there is something I need to say to you both.

SCENE 15- Ricardo’s Loft

Ricardo reminisces about his life with Gabi for he now knows that she is gone for good.

RICARDO: I can’t believe that she is really gone.

He sits down and puts his head on the table. obviously upset about Gabi’s departure.

Cole and Caitlin have just enjoyed a early morning love-making session

COLE: I can’t believe after all this time, we finally found our way back to each other.

CAITLIN: I missed you so much.

COLE: I probably missed you more. And the whole time it was your father who was responsible for keeping us apart.

CAITLIN: Cole, don’t get mad. But I think I am going to go see Daddy today.

COLE: Why would I get mad?

CAITLIN: I don’t know. I am going but I don’t know what to say to him.

COLE: Are you going to confront him?

CAITLIN: I am not sure yet. But we will see.

SCENE 2- SURF CENTRAL

Sara and Casey are kissing on the coach when the doorbell rings; Casey pulls away and goes to answer the door.

JOAN: Hi, Casey.

HANK: Casey, how are you doing.

CASEY: Not bad.

SARA: Mom, Dad, what are you doing here?

JOAN: Honey, it’s New Year’s Day. We thought it would be nice to have a family get-together.

HANK: I called Meg but she told me that she and Ben are leaving for Venice right away.

SARA: Venice? Wow, Meg must be on cloud nine.

HANK: She sounded very happy.

CASEY: Well, why don’t I get us some drinks. Joan? Hank?

JOAN: Water, please.

HANK: Nothing for me, thanks.

CASEY: Sara?

SARA: I’ll have some of the lemonade that I made this morning.

CASEY: Ok, I’ll be right back.

Casey exits into the kitchen; Sara turns to Joan and Hank.

SARA (angrily): How could you do this to me?

Joan and Hank look at each other, wondering what Sara is talking about.

SCENE 3- RICARDO’S LOFT

Ricardo is sitting down, upset about Gabi.

ANTONIO: Ricardo?

Antonio comes through the door.

RICARDO: What are you doing here?

ANTONIO: I came to see you before I left for the monastery. What’s going on?

RICARDO: It’s Gabi. She just left. I tried to stop her, but she said that she had to go and that was that.

ANTONIO: You still love her, don’t you?

Ricardo looks at his brother and Antonio looks back, curious about his brother’s answer.

SCENE 4- MARIA’S BEACH HOUSE

MARIA: Before you go, there is something that I have to say to both of you.

BEN: Maria, Meg and I really have to get going.

MARIA: It won’t take long.

BEN: Ok.

Ben and Meg walk in the house.

CARMEN: Benjy, why don’t you come with me into the kitchen for a snack.

BENJY: Ok.

Carmen and Benjy exit

BEN: Ok, Maria. What’s this all about?

Ben and Meg look at Maria, waiting for an answer.

OPENING CREDITS

SCENE 5- BRAD’S BEDROOM

AMY: You still want Emily, don’t you?

BRAD: Actually, I thought…

AMY: Oh, who cares? I still want Sean and that’s all that matters.

BRAD: Well, I don’t think that Sean is going to trust you ever again once if he hasn’t already found out about the love potion.

AMY: Well, I'll find out soon. I’m on my way over to see Sean.

BRAD: Are you nuts?

AMY: No, I am thinking perfectly clearly.

Amy walks out of Brad’s room.

SCENE 6- SEAN’S BEDROOM AT THE RICHARDS’

Sean and Emily are in bed together after spending the night together for the first time.

SEAN: I can’t believe that we’re both here and I’m holding you in my arms.

EMILY: What a way to start the millennium.

SEAN: Don’t you know that the millennium doesn’t start until 2001?

EMILY: That doesn’t matter. What matters is that I am starting 2000 with you.

They kiss

SCENE 7- COLE AND CAITLIN’S BEDROOM AT THE RICHARDS’

Caitlin gets out of bed and starts to walk to the shower.

COLE: Can I join you, Mrs. Deschanel?

CAITLIN: Of course you can.

Cole runs after her and they shut the door.

SCENE 8- MARIA’S BEACH HOUSE

MARIA: All I wanted to say is that I am glad that things have worked out so well for the two of you and I hope that you have an amazing honeymoon.

MEG: Thank you, Maria. That means a lot to me- to both of us.

BEN: Yes, it really does.

Ben gives Maria a hug and following him, Meg does as well

MARIA: Well, you two better get going. You don’t want to miss your flight.

BEN: Ok. Benjy?

Benjy comes running from the kitchen

BENJY: Yes, Daddy?

BEN: Meg and I are off. But we will see you soon.

BENJY: Bye, Daddy. Bye, Meg.

Ben hugs Benjy and then Meg and Ben exit. Carmen appears.

CARMEN: Mija, are you all right?

MARIA: I’m fine, Mama. Besides Ross and his daughter, Lisa, are coming over for a visit.

CARMEN: That’s wonderful, mija!

MARIA: Ross is really a wonderful man. We stayed up all night and got to know each other very well.

CARMEN: Who knew that my prediction about the man that you are going to find love with was really somehow correct?

MARIA: How funny was that, Mama?!

Maria and Carmen laugh

CARMEN: Now, if only your brothers could find the happiness that you have.

SCENE 9- RICARDO’S LOFT

RICARDO: More than anything, Antonio.

ANTONIO: I could tell. Then you have to go find her. Just like you did before, and bring her back to Sunset Beach.

RICARDO: Gabi won’t come back, not this time.

ANTONIO: You don’t know that unless you try. Well, I have to go see Mama and Maria and then I’m off to the monastery.

RICARDO: Thanks, T.

ANTONIO: No problem, bro.

Antonio walks out of the loft.

SCENE 10- SURF CENTRAL

JOAN: What did we do, Sara?

SARA: I was just looking forward to spending time alone with Casey today, that’s all.

HANK: Sorry, honey. We didn’t know.

SARA: I know. We’ve always spent New Year’s together every year so I’m sorry that I snapped at you.

JOAN: It’s okay, sweetheart.

Cut to the kitchen

Casey is done pouring all the drinks and he spies the mail from the last few days sitting on the calendar, he begins to go through it and sees a letter addressed to him from Dr. Rae Chang.

SCENE 11- OUTSIDE THE RICHARDS’ HOME

Amy is about to knock the door, but instead she lets herself in; She walks up the stairs and knocks on Sean’s door.

AMY: Sean?

She opens the door to the shocking sight of Sean and Emily in bed together; They don’t see her and Amy gently shuts the door and runs down the stairs and out of the house crying her eyes out.

SCENE 12- COUNTY PRISON

Gregory is sitting in his cell plotting revenge when all of a sudden he hears Caitlin’s voice.

CAITLIN (angrily): Hello, Daddy.

Casey reads Rae’s letter.
Brad comforts Amy.
Caitlin confronts Gregory.
Olivia sees Bette and A.J. together and gets jealous.
Jude runs into Caitlin.

FADE IN- SCENE 1- MARIA'S BEACH HOUSE

Carmen and Maria are sitting on the couch talking

MARIA: I think that you should stop worrying about Ricardo and Antonio, Mama. Things are getting better between them.

CARMEN: I know, mija. It’s hard not to worry, though. I really hope that someday things will be the same as they were before.

MARIA: They will.

They hear a knock at the door, Maria gets up to answer it. She walks to the door opens it and it’s Antonio.

MARIA: Hi!

She gives him a hug.

CARMEN: Antonio.

ANTONIO: Hi, Mama. Well, I just stopped by to say good-bye. I’m on my way to the monastery.

CARMEN: Oh, no, miego. You can’t go. Not today. Not now.

MARIA: Don’t tell me that there’s danger ahead, Mama?

CARMEN: No, I just have this horrible feeling that if you go today, Antonio, that you will never return.

Antonio and Maria look at each other.

SCENE 2- SURF CENTRAL

In the kitchen, Casey picks up the letter from Rae, and debates about opening it.

CASEY’S VOICE: What have I got to lose.

He opens the letter and begins to read (voiceover with Casey’s voice): Dear Casey, I know that it’s been so long since we’ve spoken, but I need to tell you about some changes that are going on in my life. I have divorced Wei-Lee, it’s a long story. My parents are devastated that the marriage did not work out, to say the least. I don’t have a future here in San Francisco. I have been offered a position at South Bay, and I am almost certain that I am going to take it. So, I am coming back to Sunset Beach. I still care about you very much, and I hope that you do too. Love, Rae.

CASEY: I can’t believe this.

Sara walks in just in time to hear him.

SARA: Can’t believe what?

SCENE 3- COUNTY PRISON

CAITLIN (angrily): Hello, Daddy.

GREGORY: Caitlin, I can’t believe that you are here. It’s so wonderful to see you.

CAITLIN (sternly): I wish that I could say the same. But I have some things that I need to say to you. And you need to hear them.

Gregory reacts to Caitlin’s tone of voice.

OPENING CREDITS

SCENE 4- BRAD’S HOUSE

Amy walks into Brad’s bedroom crying her eyes out.

BRAD: I knew that this would happen if you went over to Sean’s. He told you to go to hell, right?

AMY (sobbing): Not exactly.

BRAD: Oh, he told you to drop dead?

AMY: No, but I may as well have. I walked in on Sean and Emily in bed together.

Brad is shocked and surprised.

SCENE 5- GRENADINE’S

Bette and A.J. are in the lobby holding each other.

BETTE: I wonder where Annie and Jude are? Our reservations were for five minutes ago.

A.J.: I’m sure that they will be here. Besides, if they don’t show up, it will be just the two of us enjoying a wonderful New Year’s brunch.

Olivia walks in; A.J. pulls away from Bette to greet Olivia.

A.J.: Olivia, how are you doing?

OLIVIA: Just fine. I’m supposed to be meeting Sean, Caitlin and Trey for brunch.

BETTE: It’s wonderful that you have them back in your life.

OLIVIA: And I owe it all to Annie.

Annie and Jude walk in to the lobby.

ANNIE: Did I hear my name?

SCENE 6- COUNTY PRISON

GREGORY: Caitlin, I’m sure that you are upset.

CAITLIN: Upset! All along you were behind Cole’s disappearance! You never stopped trying to keep us apart! And posing as Tobias, just so you could retain control of your money! How could you be so- despicable!

GREGORY: I know that I have done some hard things. I only did it because I want what’s best for my children.

CAITLIN: What’s best for me is Cole, Daddy. Now if you have any decency left in you, you will do what’s right.

GREGORY: What do you mean?

CAITLIN: You will sign Trey’s inheritance over to Cole.

GREGORY: Never! Never!

CAITLIN: Oh, you will. You better. Cole is Trey’s father.

GREGORY: No, Caitlin. I’m still alive. I don’t have to leave anyone anything. Most of the money will be used to pay legal fees and it will get me off for killing Francesca. I have the best lawyer in the country defending me.

CAITLIN: Fine, but from now on, I don’t have a father.

Caitlin exits

GREGORY: Caitlin! Caitlin!

Gregory picks up his bed and throws it across the cell.

GREGORY: I will not lose my daughter! I am going to get back everything that is mine!

SCENE 7- MARIA’S BEACH HOUSE

MARIA: Mama, relax. Antonio will be back. It’s only a month.

CARMEN: No, mija. You don’t understand. Antonio, you are going to lose something very valuable to you and you will never be the same.

Carmen gets out her tarot cards and begins to do a read on the coffee table.

ANTONIO: Mama, stop it! I will be fine, I promise you.

CARMEN: No! You will not be fine!

MARIA: Mama, I know I told you that I wouldn’t doubt you again, but your predictions have always been fuzzy when it comes to your children.

ANTONIO: Maria’s right, Mama. Calm down. I’m going to be fine. Now, I have to get going I have to be there by tonight.

CARMEN: My children still don’t listen to me.

She picks up the cards and puts them back in her purse.

ANTONIO: Good-bye, Mama.

Antonio grabs her hand, and then walks to Maria and hugs her.

MARIA: Take care, ok?

ANTONIO: I will. Good-bye.

MARIA: Bye.

Antonio opens the door to Ross and his daughter, Lisa.

ANTONIO: Ross, right?

They shake hands.

ROSS: Yes. And this is my daughter, Lisa.

ANTONIO: It’s nice to meet you. Well, I have to get going.

ROSS: Good-bye.

Maria walks over to greet Ross and Lisa.

MARIA: Hi.

ROSS: Hi.

MARIA: Ross, you remember my mother, right?

ROSS: Of course, how are you doing, Mrs. Torres?

CARMEN: Fine, fine.

MARIA: Mama, this is Ross’ daughter, Lisa.

CARMEN: Hi, Lisa.

LISA: This lady looks weird.

ROSS: That’s not nice, Lisa.

CARMEN: Mija, I have to go now. I will see you later.

MARIA: All right, Mama. And don’t worry about Antonio, ok?

CARMEN: I’ll try.

They say their good-byes and Carmen exits

SCENE 8- SURF CENTRAL

SARA: What can’t you believe, Casey?

CASEY: Oh, it’s nothing.

He puts the letter down, picks up the drinks and walks back into the living room with Sara.

CASEY: Here’s your water, Joan. JOAN: Thank you, Casey.

CASEY: Well, what are we going to do now?

SARA: I don’t know. It’s still early.

HANK: Maybe we should watch some football.

CASEY: Sounds good to me.

Sara looks at the kitchen, wondering what Casey was reading.

SCENE 9- GRENADINE’S

BETTE: Annie, I can’t believe this! Hallelujah!

JUDE: Yes, Annie certainly has surprised all of us.

OLIVIA: Let’s hope that there’s nothing else in store.

ANNIE: Don’t worry, I am all out of schemes.

BETTE: I am so proud of you, Poopsy. You brought Livvy her children back. There is a God!

A.J.: Olivia, why don’t you and Sean and Caitlin join the four of us for brunch?

OLIVIA: All right.

Sean walks in.

SEAN: Hi, all.

OLIVIA: Hello, darling.

BETTE: Hi ya, cutey.

Jude’s pager goes off.

JUDE: Would you all excuse me? I’ll be right back.

Jude exits

They are all talking, but you can’t really hear them as the scene changes…

SCENE 10- BRAD’S HOUSE

BRAD: They were in bed together?

AMY: That’s what I said, Brad.

BRAD: Amy, I don’t know what to say. I’m sorry.

AMY: Brad, could you just hold me, please?

BRAD: All right.

Amy and Brad look at each other and begin to kiss. They start making out on the bed, and undressing each other. They make love.

SCENE 11- MARIA’S BEACH HOUSE

Ross and Maria are sitting in the couch talking.

ROSS: Well, the kids are having fun painting in the studio. Now, what are we going to do?

MARIA: I don’t know. I can’t think of a thing.

ROSS: Maria, we’ve only known each other for a few days, but I really think you’re a wonderful woman.

MARIA: Thank you.

ROSS: You’re warm, kind, fun to be around, and beautiful.

Maria is flattered, and she and Ross share their very first kiss.

SCENE 12- SURF CENTRAL

Casey, Hank, and Joan are watching football and Sara gets up and sneaks into the kitchen; She walks over to the counter and finds the letter that Casey was reading.

SARA: Dr. Rae Chang? Wasn’t that- ?

She opens the letter and begins to read it

SARA: She’s coming back?!

CASEY: What do you think that you are doing, Sara?

Sara looks at him with the letter in her hand, realizing that she has been caught red-handed.

SCENE 13-GRENADINE’S

Everyone is sitting down at the table, and they all are looking at the menus.

BETTE: I think I am going to have Eggs Benedict.

ANNIE: That’s always been your favorite.

OLIVIA: What’s yours, Annie? Deviled Eggs?

BETTE: Livvy.

ANNIE: Olivia, I thought we called a truce.

OLIVIA: Oh, Annie. Do you really think that it would have lasted? I mean, after everything you did to me.

ANNIE: In case you’ve forgotten I brought you your children back.

OLIVIA: You were feeling guilty. It’s hard for me to believe that you even have a conscience.

ANNIE: How dare you!

Annie throws her water in Olivia’s face.

SCENE 14- OUTSIDE GRENADINE’S

JUDE: All right, I’ll be there this afternoon. Thank you, good-bye.

Jude hangs up his cell phone and sees a very upset Caitlin.

JUDE: Caitlin? What’s wrong?

Caitlin is crying and Jude hugs her and begins to comfort her.

SCENE 15- COUNTY PRISON

Gregory is talking on the pay phone at the jail.

GREGORY: I need you to come to Sunset Beach right away. You can help me get back what is mine.

On the January 6th episode:
Annie and Olivia continue to exchange bitter words.
Casey confronts Sara.
Amy and Brad are surprised after they have made love.
Antonio arrives at the monastery,where Carmen’s prediction comes true.

FADE IN- SCENE 1- GRENADINE’S

ANNIE: Olivia, I thought we called a truce.

OLIVIA: Oh, Annie. Do you really think that it would have lasted? I mean, after everything you did to me.

ANNIE: In case you’ve forgotten, I brought you your children back.

OLIVIA: You were feeling guilty. It’s hard for me to believe that you even have a conscience.

ANNIE: How dare you!

Annie throws her water in Olivia’s face.

OLIVIA: Watch out, everyone. Annie’s back!

ANNIE: You started it!

BETTE: She’s right, Livvy. You did antagonize her.

A.J.: That’s so unlike you, Olivia.

OLIVIA: Please I can’t just sit here, and watch the two of you defend this viper.

ANNIE: Viper? What about you? You are a money-grubbing drunken slut!

OLIVIA: But you made me drink, dear.

ANNIE: No one forced you, the first time around anyway.

SEAN: That’s enough! Stop it, both of you!

Annie and Olivia give each other angry looks.

SCENE 2- OUTSIDE GRENADINE’S

JUDE: All right, I’ll be there this afternoon. Thank you, good-bye.

Jude hangs up his cell phone and sees a very upset Caitlin.

JUDE: Caitlin? What’s wrong?

Caitlin is crying and Jude hugs her and begins to comfort her.

JUDE: Don’t worry, everything’s ok. What happened?

CAITLIN: I just went to see my father.

JUDE: How did it go?

CAITLIN: I told him to stay out of my life for good.

JUDE: I’m sorry, I’m sure that it was hard to say. Well, cheer up. Everyone’s in there waiting for you.

CAITLIN: Everyone?

JUDE: Yes, your mom, Sean, Bette, A.J., and Annie.

CAITLIN: Annie? Jude, let me offer you a piece of advice: anyone who is twisted up with Annie is bound to get hurt.

SCENE 3- SURF CENTRAL

Sara opens Rae’s letter and begins to read it

SARA: She’s coming back?!

CASEY: What do you think that you are doing, Sara?

Sara looks at him with the letter in her hand, realizing that she has been caught red-handed.

SARA: Nothing. Nothing at all.

Casey grabs the letter.

CASEY: You were reading this, weren’t you?

Sara is shaken with fear.

OPENING CREDITS

SCENE 4- BRAD’S HOUSE

Amy and Brad are still making love; suddenly Amy and Brad separate, realizing what they have done.

BRAD: What just happened?

AMY: I think that we just had sex.

BRAD: I can’t believe it!

AMY: Neither can I.

BRAD: I can’t believe that I just had sex!

Brad begins to cheer, and Amy rolls her eyes.

AMY: Brad, get over it. It’s never going to happen again.

BRAD: Huh?

AMY: I was upset about Sean. That’s all. I don’t plan to sleep with you again, or have a relationship.

Brad is confused and somewhat hurt.

SCENE 5- THE MONASTERY

Antonio rings the bell on the door, and the Archbishop opens the door.

ANTONIO: Hello, Archbishop McGallum.

ARCHBISHOP MCGALLUM: Hello, Antonio.

Archbishop McGallum closes the door, and whistles. Suddenly a bunch of men dressed in white grab Antonio.

ARCHBISHOP MCGALLUM: Take him away!

ANTONIO: What is going on here?

ARCHBISHOP MCGALLUM: Don’t you get it, Father? This isn’t the monastery. And I’m not an archbishop. This is a place where priests pay dearly for their sins. We are all deeply religious and do not tolerate priests breaking their vows. Now, take him the chamber immediately!

The men take Antonio away, and the “archbishop” smiles evilly.

SCENE 7- GRENADINE’S

OLIVIA: You’re right, Sean. I’m just going to go.

SEAN: Come on, Mom. I’ll take you, home.

Jude and Caitlin enter.

CAITLIN: Mom, what happened?

OLIVIA: Annie. That’s what happened.

Sean and Olivia exit and Caitlin and Jude give Annie dirty looks.

CAITLIN: You never change, Annie.

BETTE: You don’t understand, beauty. Olivia, she –

CAITLIN: Don’t defend her, Bette. You see what I mean, Jude? Anyone who crosses Annie’s path is bound to get hurt.

ANNIE: That’s not true!

Jude grabs Annie’s arm.

JUDE: Come with me, Annie. We need to talk.

Jude and Annie leave the room.

CAITLIN: I’m going to go catch up with Mom and Sean.

Caitlin exits. Bette turns to A.J. and sighs

BETTE: What has gotten into Olivia?

A.J.: I haven’t the foggiest.

SCENE 8- SURF CENTRAL

CASEY: Sara, answer me! You were reading this, weren’t you? Weren’t you?!

SARA: I am not going to lie to you. Yes, I did read it. Only because something upset you and I knew that it had something to do with this letter.

CASEY: That gives you no right to read a letter that was addressed to me- not Sara Cummings!

SARA: I’m sorry, Casey. I only did it because I care about you.

CASEY: I don’t want to hear it.

Casey storms out of the kitchen into the living room past Joan and Hank and walks out of Surf Central slamming the door behind him; Joan and Hank look at Sara, who is almost crying.

SARA: I can’t believe this!

SCENE 9- BRAD’S HOUSE

BRAD: That’s fine by me! No, get the hell out of my bed!

AMY: Brad!

BRAD: I mean it, get the hell out!

Amy grabs her clothes and leaves.

BRAD: God, Amy, when are you going to see that we are perfect for each other. Sean doesn’t want you- he never has.

Amy is in her bedroom

AMY’S VOICE: I can’t believe I’m even thinking this, but Brad and I had incredible sex. Might even better than with Sean. What am I saying? I want Sean, and I have to get him away from Emily- no matter what I have to do.

SCENE 10- GRENADINE’S

Jude pulls Annie into a room at Grenadine’s and he shuts the door.

ANNIE: All right, let me have it. Tell me that I shouldn’t have thrown water on Olivia, go head.

JUDE: Why don’t you tell me what happened first.

ANNIE: Well, classic Olivia. She insulted me, and I threw water on her.

JUDE: Annie, you should prove that you’re better than Olivia and just ignore her remark.

ANNIE: I am better than Olivia.

JUDE: Then prove it.

Jude draws Annie into a kiss, and they begin to make love.

SCENE 11- SURF CENTRAL

JOAN: What just happened?

SARA: Casey and I had a fight.

HANK: About what?

SARA: It doesn’t matter. He hates me.

JOAN: Honey, that’s not true. You’re engaged.

SARA: Probably not for much longer.

HANK: Ahh, honey.

Joan and Hank put their arms around Sara.

SCENE 12- THE RICHARDS HOME

Olivia, Sean and Caitlin walk through the door.

OLIVIA: It’s been such a long day, and it’s only after noon.

SEAN: Don’t worry, Mom. For the rest of the day, we’ll just stay home and relax.

CAITLIN: Sounds good to me. I’m going upstairs to see if Cole is home.

OLIVIA: Will you check on Trey, too?

CAITLIN: Sure, I’ll be back.

Caitlin exits

SEAN: Mom, are you okay?

OLIVIA: I don’t know, Sean. There has been so much going on lately with your father, Annie, and everything.

SEAN: I guess you could use a break, huh?

OLIVIA: More than anything right now.

SEAN: Well, I’ll go to the kitchen and get you some tea.

OLIVIA: All right, darling.

Olivia sits on the couch and then hears the doorbell ring.

OLIVIA: Rose?

She gets up and walks toward the door; she opens it and screams loudly.

SCENE 13- GRENADINE’S

Annie and Jude have just made love; they are kissing and suddenly Bette and A.J. walk into the room.

BETTE: Oh, my!

A.J.: Sorry!

BETTE: Woo! You two don’t waste any time, now do you?

ANNIE: Aunt Bette!

Bette and A.J. turn around and leave and Annie and Jude look at each other and laugh.

SCENE 14- ANTONIO’S CHAMBER

Antonio is chained in a chair with his clothes torn and he is badly burned; he has obviously been tortured.
NOTE: Antonio will be leaving for several weeks, as SUNSET BEACH 2000 focuses on a Paula/Ricardo/Gabi triangle again. But don’t worry, Antonio will be back soon!

ON THE JANUARY 7th EPISODE:
Gabi shows up at Paula and Elaine’s home in San Diego.
Meg and Ben enjoy a gondola ride in Venice.
The identity of Olivia’s visitor is revealed.
Casey and Rae come face to face for the first time in two and a half years.

CAST: MEG, BEN, GABI, PAULA, CASEY, SARA, OLIVIA, SEAN, CAITLIN, IRIS, COLE, A.J., BETTE, ELAINE, RAE.

FADE IN- SCENE 1- VENICE, ITALY

Meg and Ben are enjoying a romantic gondola ride.

MEG: I can’t believe that we are in Venice, and we are riding on the gondola ride. It rides me of the time you took me on the gondola ride back home. That was amazing, but this is unbelievable!

BEN: I wanted it to be the first thing we did here. I was so anxious that I paid the captain on the Concord to go as fast as he could.

MEG: Wouldn’t that be dangerous?

BEN: Maybe, but we’re here, aren’t we?

MEG: Yes, and I can’t believe it. I’m in heaven. All my dreams have finally come true.

BEN: Any other dreams you have, you just let me know, and I will make them a reality.

MEG: Ben!

They pull close to each other and kiss.

SCENE 2- SAN DIEGO, CA

Gabi walks up to a home and hesitates about knocking the door; She knocks and then waits for a few seconds when the door opens and she sees her sister, Paula, in front of her for the first time in years.

PAULA (surprised): Gabi.

GABI: Hi, Paula. I think it’s about time we talked- face to face.

Paula looks at Gabi, somewhat confused.

SCENE 3- THE BEACH

Casey is on the beach thinking still upset by Sara’s betrayal.

SARA: Casey?

CASEY: I don’t feel like talking right now.

SARA: Casey, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to invade your privacy.

CASEY: Are you still so insecure about our relationship that you think I would keep something like this from you? I was going to tell you about Rae’s letter when your parents left.

SARA: Oh?

CASEY: Yes, I was. Now, tell me, Sara. Do you still think I am in love with someone else?

SCENE 4- THE RICHARDS HOME

Olivia, Sean and Caitlin walk through the door.

OLIVIA: It’s been such a long day, and it’s only after noon.

SCENE 5- A.J.’S HOTEL ROOM

Bette and A.J. walk through the door, laughing.

BETTE: I can’t believe that we just walked in on Jude and Annie. My niece has finally found the good guy who will love her-

A.J.: Just like you did.

BETTE: That’s right.

Bette and A.J. kiss for a few seconds.

A.J.: Now, if I only we could figure out what is going on with Olivia.

BETTE: Honey, I don’t know what’s going on with Olivia, but all I know is that she can’t take anything else right now.

SCENE 6- THE RICHARDS HOME

Olivia is looking at the guest completely shocked.

OLIVIA: It can’t be.

The camera turns on the guest, a woman, dressed in fine clothes with dark brown hair. Picture a Joan Collins-like character.

WOMAN: Yes, Olivia, it’s me.

Cole and Caitlin come running down the stairs and Sean comes running from the kitchen.

CAITLIN: Mom, what’s going on?

SEAN: Yeah, Mom, and who is this?

OLIVIA (whispering): No, it isn’t true.

Olivia faints and falls into Cole’s arms.

Commercial

SCENE 7-SAN DIEGO, CA-PAULA AND ELAINE’S HOME

GABI: Can I come in?

PAULA: I guess so.

Paula lets Gabi in and Gabi looks around the house.

GABI: Wow, I like your house. Do you and Elaine live here?

PAULA: Yes. Mom went out to get some groceries. She’ll be back soon.

GABI: I came here because I feel like I need to make peace with you before I leave California.

PAULA: You left Sunset Beach?

GABI: And Ricardo.

PAULA: Really? I must admit Gabi, I didn’t take it well when I found out that the two of you were engaged. Do you finally get married?

GABI: Yes, but it didn’t work out.

PAULA: I can see that. Ricardo could never commit to one woman.

GABI: It’s not his fault, it’s mine. It’s a long story. I just hope that there are no ill feelings between us.

PAULA: Honestly, I really try not to think about those days in Sunset Beach.

GABI: I understand. Paula, can you ever forgive me for what I did to you and Ricardo?

SCENE 8-VENICE, ITALY

Meg and Ben are getting off the gondola and are walking through Venice.

MEG: I can’t believe that we are really here. It’s so beautiful.

BEN: Not as beautiful as you are, Mrs. Evans.

MEG: Meg Evans. It has a nice ring to it. Meg Cummings Evans. Nah. I like Meg Evans much better.

BEN: Me, too.

MEG: I just can’t believe that I am in Venice! I’ve dreamed about this place for so long. Remember that dream I had about everything in Sunset Beach not being real?

BEN: Yes/

MEG: If this isn’t real, then I don’t know what is.

BEN: I know that one thing that’s real. Our love for each other. We will always have each other no matter what.

Meg smiles and Ben puts his arm around her and they continue to walk through the city.

Commercial

SCENE 9- THE BEACH

SARA: No, of course not. You’ve given me no reason to think that.

CASEY: Then, believe me, when I tell you that it’s over with Rae. It has been for a long time now. We’re engaged and we are going to be together always.

SARA: Casey, you know I believe you.

CASEY: Ok, let’s go back to the house shall we?

SARA: Okay.

Casey and Sara walk arm and arm back to Surf Central.

SCENE 10- A.J.’S HOTEL ROOM

BETTE: So, what else are we going to be doing on this fine New Year’s Day?

A.J.: Well, tonight. I arranged for us to have dinner at the finest restaurant in Santa Barbara.

BETTE: Santa Barbara?

A.J.: Plus, a night at the Capwell Hotel.

BETTE: Woo! That hotel is supposed to be magnificent! Honey, what are we waiting for. Let’s go!

Bette walks out the door and A.J. follows her.

SCENE 11- THE RICHARDS HOME

Cole is trying to revive Olivia from her dizzy spell.

COLE: Olivia? Olivia? Wake up.

SEAN: Mom, are you okay?

WOMAN: I didn’t mean to cause a ruckus.

CAITLIN: Who are you?

WOMAN: Iris Blake-Prentiss, Olivia’s mother.

Sean and Caitlin look at Iris, completely shocked.

SCENE 12- SAN DIEGO, CA- PAULA AND ELAINE’S HOME

PAULA: Gabi, I forgave you a long time ago. We’re sisters. There is nothing that is going to change that.

GABI: You really mean that?

PAULA: Of course I do.

Gabi and Paula hug as Elaine walks through the door with bags of groceries; They break apart after hearing the door open.

ELAINE: Oh my! Gabi. What the hell are you doing here?

Gabi and Paula exchange looks.

SCENE 13- THE RICHARDS HOME

CAITLIN: What are you talking about? Both my grandparents died when my mother was young.

IRIS: Guess again, I’m alive.

Olivia begins to come out of it.

COLE: Olivia? Are you all right?

OLIVIA: What happened?

SEAN: You fainted, Mom.

IRIS: Olivia, darling. Are you all right?

OLIVIA: Oh,dear god! It can’t be you! It just can’t! You’re dead!

IRIS: Honey, I can explain. Let’s sit down.

OLIVIA: I can’t believe it! You’re alive? Where’s Dad?

IRIS: I’ll explain, Olivia. Let’s go in hear and sit down.

Olivia and Iris walk into the family room, and Caitlin, Cole and Sean follow, intrigued.

SCENE 14- SURF CENTRAL

Casey and Sara come through the door; They face each other and Casey puts his arms around Sara and they share a kiss.

CASEY: Did your parents leave?

SARA: Yes, why don’t we go upstairs?

CASEY: You want to?

SARA: Yes, tell you what? I’ll meet you up there. Why don’t you go to the kitchen and get some whipped cream?

CASEY: For what, may I ask?

SARA: So, you can lick it off of my body.

Casey gets excited and Sara walks up the stairs; Casey begins to walk toward the kitchen and the doorbell rings. He turns around to answer the door. He opens it and there standing in front of him is Rae, his former love.

RAE: Hello, Casey.

ON THE JANUARY 10th episode:

Iris tells her story.

Sara is not pleased to meet Rae.

Jude is offered an exciting new job.

Elaine learns that A.J. is alive.
