reserved occupations, who were NOT ALLOWED to enlist, were protected from the 'White Feather' brigade who would call
"coward"
any one not in uniform or without a valid reason not to be
- to signify that a woman's
son/husband was overseas with the AIF or the RAN ( and in WW2 the
RAAF)
- to signify that duty had already
been done.
