LOST (Parrino/Cropper) 3:48 Lost was the first song the band ever wrote. The music to this song was written and arranged by James and Alan, and the lyrics by James. The song is a dedication to the death of Paul Richmond, a school mate to all the band. It deals with the feeling of Losing someone close to you, and the emotions experienced in a time of mourning. It is a deeply emotional and personal song, with a message that aims to inspire and lift people in sad times. |

NO WAY OUT (Parrino/Murdoch) 3:37 No Way Out is the second song Displaced wrote, and still remains one of the heaviest and most aggresive in the bands repetoire. James and Nathan wrote the music together, and James wrote the lyrics. This particular song deals with a feeling of entrapment in life, which alot of people can relate to, whether it be entrapment by your parents, by your job, by the government or however the listener chooses to take it. A feeling of being restricted, held back and not being able to enjoy life is what is delt with. This song is always the last song to be played on the setlist. |

DRIFT AWAY (Parrino) 5:14 Music and Lyrics to Drift Away were entirely written by James Parrino, during a deeply personal time, when his Grandfather was nearing the end of his life, and had lost hope. It deals with the feeling of helplessness when the end is near, and the only thing to do is to watch your life pass you by. Musically the song is very slow, and sad, the music is atmospheric taking rises and falls in intenstity. It is takes on a life of its own every time it is played, and is a favourite within the band. |

ANARCHY (Parrino) 3:31 This song was written entirely by James, whilst on holiday in Sicily. Altough it was written on a crappy nylon string acoustic guitar, it is still packed with big heavy riffs that go insane live. The music to this song suits the anti-war theme of the lyrics perfectly, with its huge riffs and intense feel.The lyrics of the song describe our world in a state of total Armageddon, where all problems are solved with fighting and warfare. Hopefully this is a world we will never have to face. |

SHADOW (Parrino) 5:01 Shadow is a peice which really defines the band's originality as musicians. Although it was written by James, things that each member have added to it, show all of our seperate influences, and come together beautifully to produce this song. A favourite in the band, and the song always used to begin the set. The music is very dark, with quiet sections and heavy sections. They lyrics are about personal guilt. A Shadow is a metaphor for guilt which we carry with us every day, and how we handle it. |

SHADOWS (Parrino/Murdoch) 5:23 Music for Shadows Written by James, and Lyrics by James and Nathan. This song is the sequel to Shadow, and carries on the same story/sujbect matter. This time the lyrics look at Guilt from the past coming back to haunt us. Kind of a 'what goes around comes around' type of theme. The music is again a credit to the originality in the band's style, sounding more and more like Displaced, and less like their influences. This song also features rhythm guitarist Nathan Murdoch playing his first lead guitar solo. |

MIDNIGHT (Parrino/Cropper) This song was written by both Alan and James, but after a few weeks of rehearsals, got sent back to the drawing board because the band found it boring to play. TO BE CONTINUED |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
NEVER CHANGE (Murdoch/Parrino) 3:51 Music for Never Change was entirely written by Nathan, and lyrics were written by Nathan and James. The song is about the effect drugs can have on a users, how they take control and destroy lives. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
RELEASE (Cropper/Parrino/Murdoch) 5:02 Music for Release was written by Alan and sounds unlike any other original the band has previously made.The music has a more epic and inspirational feel. The lyrics were another joint effort between James and Nathan. The song is about trying to find some form of escape from everyday life and learning to let go. |

BLACK (Parrino) 5:21 Black is a song which was entirely written by James Parrino about the events on September 11 at the World Trade Centre. It is song which combines the emotions of anger, sadness, sorrow and hatred felt by people all over the world. Musically it contains the most riffs out of any of the band's material, and is James and Nathan's personal favourite peice. |
