Declaration of Re-Independence

I am reluctant to use the word "gangs" in this declaration. However, truth is preferable to timid social propriety, especially if such truth ensures liberty and justice for our people. I find some truth in the word "gangs." Perhaps the time has come for a voter's revolution in the quiet of the voting booth. We could cast off the comfortable tyranny of the DNC and the RNC, the two-party dictatorship. The flawed 2000 Presidential election makes the need for electoral and political reforms obvious to nearly everyone. The many questions raised relate primarily to the extent of the changes needed. Do we need to abolish the tyranny of national level two-party politics, where the overriding objective has become maintaining two-party power through a widespread monopoly spoils system of career political leadership? The network of corruption includes lobbyists, party bureaucrats, political campaign profiteers and bipartisan career politicians, who all appear to serve party interests first and public interests last.

The American people are held hostage in the endless civil war between two bipartisan political gangs, Democratic and Republican, who are clothed in the respectability of tradition and civic responsibility. The time has arrived to free our people from the prison of our traditional two-party political tyranny. Two bipartisan gangs have total political power, but little actual support.

We are cut in two by the pointless power struggle between those bipartisan political gangs. Benefits accrue entirely to the wealthy and powerful. The majority of voters are barely represented. Proof, over 115,000,000 age eligible citizens do not bother to vote. Additional millions would rather have more choices on their ballots. Most votes are cast for a less unattractive choice between two bad choices, in order to claim some faint voice in government. A huge proportion of elections are noncompetitive or uncontested because the winner is fixed by gerrymandering. One gang dominates each malformed electoral district, and controls each district as a virtual dictatorship. The two incumbent political gangs always win the endless spoils of victory. The gangs pay lip service to acting in the public interest, only to retain political power.

We are a nation divided. We will be divided without end, until we dissolve the tyranny of two-party national politics. Our sovereignty and rights as people will forever be secondary to the power struggle between two national parties. To express our sovereignty as people, we should forever ban any permanent national political party organization. This can be done. Voters can simply choose to not vote for any bipartisan gang member, any Democratic Party or Republican Party candidate. Voters possess absolute power in the right to vote.

Not voting, or a vote cast for even the most decent person controlled from above by the bipartisan Democratic and Republican national committees (DNC & RNC) is wasted. Votes cast to elect non-partisan independent candidates will restore power to our people. Majority non-partisan independent public office holders will represent the majority public policy interests of our people.

The gangs are not embarrassed by common 25% voter turnouts. Would 10% of the voter turnout vote cast for each two-party incumbent be an embarrassment? Let us see if they have any sense of shame, or any sense of honor. Let them voluntarily disband their minority national standing committees, to include the DNC and the RNC. Let them assume their rightful place among the minor parties of our nation.

National public policy can have adequate expression in the executive and legislative branches of the national government as provided by the US Constitution. All attempts by political parties to dominate public offices, in order to establish  national public policy that serves mutual self-interests with their campaign contributors, are treasonous acts that clearly bypass the legally constituted government of the United States of America. The DNC and the RNC in that regard are a danger to the republic and are subversive to the defense of our constitutional government as instituted for our people.

National public policy could benefit from the national governors association speaking as a group with diverse practical experience in handling common public problems. Non-partisan governors could speak best for our common interests. If Democratic and Republican governors had no national policy directives from the DNC and the RNC, even bipartisan governors could become free to govern in the interests of their people and their states. The power struggle to have a ruling majority of governors from one of the two bipartisan parties would be ended. Non-partisan independent governors, and minor party governors, could naturally grow in number. States could be governed in a non-partisan manner to strengthen the federal nature of our democratic republic.

We have a monopoly two-party national government so comfortable in its usurpation and control that it pays no attention to the needs of the states and of the people for whom the national government was instituted.

The bipartisan two-party monopoly has aggregate nominal support of less than 40% of the American people. If you insist upon full loyal support, the proportion drops to around 10%. Voters come out to vote for a candidate they hope will represent their interests, not to elect any candidate of either widely distrusted bipartisan monopoly political party.

Our nation, our government, cannot long endure without majority consent of our people. The Declaration of Independence says, and I quote:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, ... that all men are created equal...with certain unalienable Rights...Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness - ... Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.... But when a long train of abuses... pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. Such has been the patient sufferance of these [citizens].... let Facts be submitted to a candid world." Emphasis added.

Let facts be submitted again to a candid world to be judged when our voters overturn the abuse and usurpation of the DNC (Democrats) and the RNC (Republicans) in a bloodless voter revolution won entirely in the quiet of the voting booth. The only end sought in our voter revolution is a non-partisan democratic republic ruled for and by our people under the US Constitution.
