#437 - USS ANUBIS: Rikar: Day 4 - 14:49 ("Reports")

Stardate: 60298.1449
Setting: USS ANUBIS: Array Section, Deck A-4, IGC

The young woman held on tightly to the arm rests of the chair she had been sitting in as the ship rocked violently from the explosion of the Breen vessel. The goal had been to disable the frigate so that its crew would not be able to get to TOLAR IV in time to cause problems to the Marines who had been sent there to retrieve the ILO and her bodyguard… but like most plans, something unexpected had happened.

"Ablative armour is intact… main power is still offline… life support system has been restored to 2/3 of the ship." An officer of the IGC reported, his having been only 1 of 3 working stations in the entire room that usually was bustling with electronic activity.

"What is the statues of the Breen ship?" The ExO inquired, the external sensors having been knocked out before the official conclusion of their interaction with the energy field could be assessed. The violence of the shockwave that had hit the ANUBIS had been enough to make the young woman suspect that the vessel they had set out to disable had suffered a more unkind fate, but experience had taught the redheaded woman not to jump to any conclusions. Assuming anything, like the destruction of an opposing ship, could prove to be a fatal error, one that the ExO had not wanted to make.

"We are receiving only partial sensor readings… but there is enough debris matter to account for more than 78% of a Breen frigate suggesting that the ship had either been completely destroyed or rendered utterly inoperative." The same IGC officer replied having apparently summoned to his station all of the working systems that were normally scattered throughout the deck they were on.

"Well… I'm sure that whatever happened couldn't be helped… now we just have to get back on our feet and return to the planet." The young woman announced allowing those around her to know that she had not been pleased with the way things had unfolded. The ANUBIS had been meant from the start to be a ship that operated from the shadows to achieve its goal of protecting the Federation and its citizens… which meant that wilful destruction of opposing forces had not been its primary target… but one that unfortunately came along with the territory from time to time.

=/\= All departments… reports status. =/\= James ordered over a ship wide comm signal which was standard procedure following the type of shockwave the ship had been made to endured.

"ICG here… we are working with bare minimum systems… external and internal sensors are for the most part offline." The young woman reported as she checked her darkened console which completely failed to respond to her touch.

=/\= Serena here… have you got any casualties up there? =/\= The half Human, half Romulan Ops officers inquired, having unwillingly discovered another aspect of her new duties.

"Negative on the casualties… we do have a few bumps and bruises but nothing that a few days on a beach of RISA wouldn't cure." The ExO informed, feeling that a little infusion of humour could only serve the greater good at this time.

=/\= I'll pass on the request to the CO… as soon as he gets back to his chair. David is currently working on the sensor issue but priority was given to life support systems. Tactical systems including external sensors are second on the list… so hang in there. =/\= The Chief of Operations reported obviously swamped by numerous other reports coming from all over the ship.

"Alright everyone… looks like we are on our own for a little while. I want a complete survey of all damaged systems… as soon as Lt. Dawson works his magic once again I want to be able to know exactly what we can and cannot use. Since I can image that he will have his hands full with all of the repair request, start working on fixing what we can up here." Sabrina commanded of those around her, sending the entire deck into full action despite the reduce lighting and the reality that the majority of the instruments they used were currently non-operational.

Stardate: 10298.1450
Setting: TOLAT IV, Atop a Snowy Hill

The storm had come from nowhere and the intensity of the wind had rendered their personal cloaking devices useless… none of the 3 Jem'Hadar warriors having been able to see past their own noses. Yet despite their obvious inability to continue with the task that they had been given the soldiers of the Dominion remained in position, no longer able to see the cave's entrance or anything else for that matter.

Although their sight had been obstructed by the wall of snow the wind had created, the 3 Jem'Hadars had not been by any stretch of the imagination left defenceless. Bred for only 1 purpose… that of being the best warriors that they could be, the creations of the Founders could still hear the approach of a set of feet which triggered an instinctual response. Through the blowing snow the form of a fourth Jem'Hadar gradually made itself known to the first 3 who lowered their weapons.

"I was sent to see why no reports ware made."

"There is something in the storm that interferes with communications. It was deemed imprudent to sent 1 of us to report back, so we waited for someone to come to us." The soldier in command of the small group offered, not giving any sign that what he had said had been an excuse of any sort. He had done what he thought was best to comply with the orders he and his men had received from the Vorta… which had been in his opinion all that he needed.

"Very well… I will return and report your status ." The other Jem'Hadar announced, not sounding troubled in any way by what he had seen or heard before pivoting on his heels and heading back to the cloaked ship… ploughing through the storm as if it had not been there. Showing weakness in any way was not the way of the Jem'Hadars.
